Nelnet, Inc. Misinformed me regarding IDR process, thereby affecting my results Nelnet Nebraska

On June 15, 2018, I submitted requested documents for the Income Driven Repayment program and was told that all documents had been received. Then I received a general email stating that nelnet had not received any documents. I called and was told that my Page 2 was incorrect. On June 29, 2018, I submitted the requested replacement Page 2 of the application.

I spoke with a representative who told me that they had everything they needed to review the application and that it would take two weeks. On July 13, I received another email from Nelnet stating that they were missing a document, but with no details about what was missing. I called, stayed on hold, and spoke to a rep. They told me they were missing page 2 - the same exact page 2 that I had resubmitted on June 29.

I asked them to look at the same screen I was looking at on my Account page on nelnet.com, where all documents were visible and submitted. They told me that they cannot see the same documents that I'm looking at. I asked for a supervisor. He told me that, each time I submit a document, the review process starts all over again. He told me that this was the law with the Education Department. I stated that this was not the law with Great Lakes, my previous loan handler.

The delay of review from my initial submission of June 15, 2018 to July 13, 2018 means that I have to obtain different information about pay and start the process all over again. I'm in deferment until October, 2018 and this will affect that status. I cannot take my loan out of deferment until the IDR application is accepted; thereby adding more interest to my loan. II will be asking for the difference in loan interest between the date that I submitted my initial IDR application and the date that it is accepted.
