This NES company has hired some of the cruelest people alive.
I owe on a credit card, Months ago they screwed up and didn't send a bill out via mail, but instead just took it apon themselves (without notice to me) to set up an email billing, which I did not know about. So I missed a payment.
When I figured out what had happened I tried to resolve the situation, but all I get on the phone is people from India, who can barely speak or understand english. So I wrote 2 letters, 3 emails, cut up the card sent it back and asked that the account be comptely shut down and disabled, explained to them that I had become unemployed and would pay them $25 a month until the balance was paid, they have taken my payments for approx 6-7 months now.
Then last month I got a letter saying the Credit card company was writing it off as bad dept, and sending the bill to a collection agency.
So last month I did not send them a $25 payment, because apparently that didn't matter to them, (although they cased every check I sent)So now the "lovely" people from NES start calling me, day and night, night and day, they even somehow got the phone numbers to both mine and my room mates prepaid cell phones. How that happened is still a mistery.
Then yesterday I got a letter in the mail from Nes, saying I had 30 days to either dispute the debt or admit to it and contact them to work something out.
So I called, WHAT A NIGHTMARE, I spoke to a man who was the rudest person I have ever encountered in my Life, "Mr. Devaraue" did not want to hear a word I said. I was trying to explain to him that I had become unemployeed shortly after getting the card, that I used it for nessesities and that up until Oct 2007 all my payments had been made ontime and that the cc company messed up, and that I tried to fix things and that I had been making $25 a month payment since that time.
He didn't want to hear it, He said"listen lady if you can't make the whole payment today then you are wasting my time, I'm gonna turn this over to a lawyer and have them charge you with CC Fraud, you're gonna have to pay all our lawyers fees, and court cost and your bill, we will take your drivers licence, freeze and tap out all your bank accounts and take any assests you have, and put you in jail."
When I asked why about the CC Fraud, becasue I clearly did not understand this, he said " you got this card under false pretense and knew you were not going to be able to pay for it." When i tried to argue that when I got the card I was still leagaly employed and was still recieving a weekly short term dissabilty check and that I had money in the bank at that time, and had seen no reason why i wouldn't be able to maintain the minimum payment of this card, and that it was only after the Credit card company screwed up and more than quaddruppeld my min payment because of their mistake, did I default on the payment, and that i had been sending $25 a month all along as a good faith payment "he said you think my client cares about your piddly $25 a month payment, you just wait when we drag you into court and your payment is $800 a month, what do you think is gonna happen to you when you can't make that payment" This man made threat after threat after threat.
I kept telling him "let me make payments, I'm unemployed , I'm ill, I can't work, and even if I could in the area I live everyone is losing their jobs, In the past couple months everyone of my neighbors has gotten laid off" His response was " I'm sick of all you people blaming you bad debts on the economy why don't you just call a relative and borrow the money from them?"
I said " if I knew anyone with that kind of money to just loan out, don't you think I would have already taken care of this bill?"
This went on for almost an hour.... Then they hung up on us.
I talked to a couple of lawyers who said they people are just snakes that will say anything to get you scared. I was told send them a payment of $25 and if they refuse it, then keep it and when and if they take you to court, show the judge, I tried making a payment and they refused. The judge will more than likely ask you how much you can afford to pay, and that will be the end of that.
I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with NES, they really are horrible people.

Hey I found out today that threatening me with "fraud charges" and many of the other things that were said to me, are considered illegal
harrasment. Just go to the FTC.GOV website and check it out. I think you have to click on debt collectors, or something like that. Once you are there it is not hard to figure out.
These people are real Jerks. I wonder how they sleep at night?
