Net Classic Emanuele Borchi Misrepresented the condition of a rebuilt engine I bought. 51031 Agliana – Pistoia (PT) Italy

Emanuele Borchi had an Autobianchi A112 engine for sale on his website in Italy.  After my inquiry regarding what had been done during its rebuilding and the condition of the engine, etc., we agree on a price, and the cost of shipping.  I paid and many weeks later, the box was delivered to the wrong address on the east coast (I am on the West Coast).  After contacting Mr. Borchi about this problem, he arranged for the engine to be picked up and shipped to the correct address.  

When I received the engine, it was quite dirty for a rebuilt engine.  It had a broken distributor, which was not the new distributor pictured in the listing photos.  He had pulled the new one, and put on a total useless one.  Prior to installing the engine, I decided to pull the head and check the engine over to be sure it was in the described condition.  

It was NOT.  The block had been cracked and poorly repaired.  Most of the bearings were worn and needed replacement.  I was told that new bearings had been used which is always done during a rebuild since they are inexpensive and the engine is disassembled.  

I am only guessing, but I think Mr. Borchi only sprayed some paint on this engine after pulling it from an old car.  he did nothing to rebuild it.  That was a pure lie.  I am on another continent, in another country, so he didn't think that anything would become of this fraud.  I am reporting him to save others from a similar fate.
