I filed my taxes and opted to have my refund deposited to a card with this company. I received the card the day before the refund was supposed to be deposited. As soon as I received the card i called to have it activated and they told me that they had a block on my card pending identity verification. That was comforting so I sent them everything they needed. The first person I spoke with told me that it would take between 3 and 6 hours and my card would be active. After sending in the verification I called to be sure they received everything and they had but this time they told me that it would take 6 to 8 hours for processing. Not too bad right? That night I received an email stating that if they did not have the block lifted by 5 pm the next day that they would have to send my refund back to the IRS. There was not much panic at this point. I was sure that they had to know that they were working on a time frame and that it would be done on time.
The next morning I called to get my card set up and they told me that they require 48 business hours to process any account. So within 12 hours it went from 3 hours to 48 hours??? I explained to them that I had received the email and that they only had the time alloted before it was sent back. They proceeded to tell me that they had sent in a request that my deposit not be sent back and that it was approved and "rest assured" my deposit would not be sent back and to call the next day. That put my mind at ease. Well the day to call back was today and lets just say things did not go well!! I was lied to in all aspects and my deposit was sent back to the IRS and now I will not receive my refund for at least a month. After telling me all this she proceeded to tell me that the good news was that the block was lifted and that she could now activate my card!!! What in the world am I going to do with a card with nothing on it? I told her this and then she hung up on me. My fiance is a telemarketer so I know this is a big no no according to the Attorney General. I called to speak to a supervisor only wanting to receive an explanation as to why I was lied to and they couldn't seem to find one. One lady I spoke with told me that she would put in a note and that her supervisor would call me back in 1 minute or 1 hour (makes lots of sense). I waited 2 hours and called back demanding to speak to someone and sat on hold, ignored for an hour and a half until I hung up. Lets just say I started calling at 8 am and its now 630 pm and Im not sure what planet they are on or how they measure time but I am pretty certain both 1 minute and 1 hour have passed and I have not spoken to a supervisor yet. The card is deactivated and I hope I never stumble upon this company again!!!!
