This past weekend me and my family were driving behind our friends after coming from taking the kids to a nearby park. A police officer pulled our friends over (for having their temp plates in the wrong window). So we pulled into the Fred Meyers parking lot. We do not have a cell phone and could only find one quarter. So i used my credit card on the payphone(run by Network Communication). I saw that it said right below the 50 cent or 1 dollar price that additional charges may apply. Assuming that this would be no more than a dollar or two I made two short phone calls (less than 3 minutes) to make sure that our friends were alright.
The next day I checked my account to see how much the phone calls were and was was outraged to see two $20 charges. I have tried to contact them(866-686-3699) without any success. I really need this money. Me and my fiance have 4 kids and he is not able to work right now because of an accident.
So to sum everything up do not stick your credit card into the payphone.

I contacted customer service at NCIC. I was told that the $20 charges were validation charges and that they would be put back on my card by my bank. I was stilled charged $10.50 for the two phone calls.
