i had over 30 years experence driving and delivery type work and over 3 million miles of driving
i have owned a franchise a contract position, completly self employeed and as a emp;oyee 15 years on 1 and 10 on another both were eliminated and taken by contract courier co
interviewed both did the fiqures and declined both the first company lost there operating rights several yrs later the seconf lost the contract 6 months later and was sold.
the big probllem the 2nd time was the rates were almost the same in 2007 as they were paying in 1992 but the expences are much higher now. and the loability risk for an accident is 10x what it used to be 300k used to be enough now you better carry an aditional 1 million unbrella policy and remember you will have to insure yourself for medical bad enough but working contract you have no workmans comp so you trip making a delivery your income stops till you can work again or buy aflact type ins mor costs and also if you supposed to be independanr try to negociate rates there might be a little range but its useall take it or leave it
if you are unemp;oyeed and own a truck or car that will serve try it its ok for temp but remember they wear out fast when i worked for companys the vheicles at best lasted 3 years 150 175k and average 2.5 to 3 years remember you cannot have breaksowns theres no margen for a spare and remember theres always exceptions the occasional guy makes it many do fair and a lot fail there never an absolute and with driving you can only do so much and falling asleep at the wheel is a chargable offence in many places good luck
