My husband made the agonizing decision to move our family from California to Texas in December of 2012. We started calling moving companies and even though New Home Moving and Storage wasnt the least exspensive ( our quote was $1650) after speaking with Craig on several occations we decided it was the best for us. Feeling like he had made a good choice my husband went to Texas and started work leaving my  sonand I to follow behing in June. I was in constant contact with Craig. If I emailed I would recieve a call with in minuets.

When I called he came right to the phone. I was even given 2 FREE months of storage just in case! I made my $85 deposit in February and started to prepare for the move. Having been in the military I know how to pack so away I went! I recieved a call from Craig June 5th to confirm my June 7th pick up and I requested an early pick up (8am) but was told that the earliest they could do was between 3 and 5 that afternoon. So my time was set. It went down hill from there.

The "Head" mover called me at 230pm to let me know that they would be arriving in an hour. When he and his coworker showed up they had what could only be described as dollar signs in their eyes. The "head" mover walked into my house stating "You have to much stuff this will cost you extra!" I was ordered to sit and he pulled out a contract then proceded to tell me "You were quoted .55 cents per pound but I charge you .66" When I asked why I was told "Because I charge you .66. You have issue we leave!" I asked to call the company, which I did but got voice mail. I was confused by this as it was only 345pm and they don't close until 5pm but figured they would call me right back. The head mover and I argued over the amount of packing materials because I had been quoted $75 for both tv's and he wanted to charge me $185.

He also claimed that there where several other items in need of packing, which in truth did not need it. I again I called the office, again I recieved no answer. He went on to explain that I had two options. I could sign a blank contract and wait for him to give me HIS quoted price for my move or I could go with being charged by weight. I requested several times to know what HIS quoted price would be but was informed that if I did not sign the blank contract I would never know, and that I needed to sign NOW (at which point he raised his voice to me) or they were leaving.. As this was the last day I had to get out of the house I really could not afford to have them leave so I opted to go with what I felt was the lesser of the two evils and signed for weighted. The "head" mover informed me "You just made a bad mistake!" 

I was further berated, and verbally abused by this driver through out the 2 plus hours they where at my house. I was lectured on everythng from the poor quality of my boxes, to the inconvience of my appointment time as it interfered with his religous beliefs. My property was treated badly (I am exspecting damage with how they tossed it around) and I had my refridgerator raided by his coworker and in the end was forced to leave an antique desk, dresser, ergonomic computer chair and several shelving units behind because as I was told "You have to much stuffs. It wont fit" which boils down to their truck was to small and that was my fault. I asked for a copy of the contract I signed but was informed "Oh you don't need it" and they took it with them. As the head driver left he turned to me and said "You like our service? You give tip?"... 

All in all I tried to call the company 5 times that day with no response. I never recieved a call back. I have since emailed and called the company several times in the past 2 months explaining what I had gone through and requesting a copy of my contract. The first time I was able to reach Craig I let him know that I was not going to be able to get my stuff delivered July 7th and needed it extended out to August 7. I also tried to tell him of my difficulties but he told me "Shush, now what date DO you want your stuff?" The second time I was able to reach him it was a week later and I had just recieved a call from a mover demanding to know my address as he was delivering my stuff in 2 days. Craig said he would call me back in 30 min. I never recieved a call nor have I been able to reach him since. It wasnt until Thursday the 1st of August that I even knew where my stuff was located. 

I had again attempted to reach Craig on Monday July 29th and reached another coworker. I started to explain my difficulties to him but was cut off as he rattled off a number and was told "Call them!" He then hung up. I dialed the number given and reached Kelly. Kelly informed me that I owed an additional $1500.80 and when I asked why so much she snapped "Look at your contract!" I admit that at this point I lost my temper and snapped back "What contract? Your verbally abusive mover took it with him!" Amazingly THAT got her attention. She took my name and number and promised to call back with in 30 min. As I am sure you can guess this did not happen. I called back after an hour and was informed that they are waiting for the manager to come into the office. It took me another 2 days before I was able to reach someone again. At which time I demanded to speak with a manager.

After all of this I really should NOT have been surprised when the manager Dona answered the phone with "Lay it one me!" I started at the begining AGAIN and explained everything from day one to her. She aplogized and said she would locate my contract, "deal" with the movers and call me back. She actually DID! I recieved a call with in 30 min! Dona assured me that the movers had been terminatd and that "No one else will have to go through that" and that she had located my contract. But when I asked her what she was going to do about the eronious charges I was informed "Nothing! You owe $1500.80" We talked for several minutes and she agreed to see what she could do.

30 min later she called me back to tell me that she would discount my packing fee by $50... After all this, the verbal abuse, the bulling, having to leave my stuff behind, the lack of response for 2 months, the over charging by $1000 they offer $50 off the packing material. Dona was NOT happy to be told that her offer was laughable, which to me it was, and unacceptable. I asked her "If it had been YOU who had gone through all of this would $50 off make YOU happy?" Her response was "Well it has to make YOU happy because I wont do anything else. I mean seriously what DO you want?" I said "I would be okay with $500 off. It still wont cover the loss, emotional stress or the $175 I had to pay to have the items removed from the property but it would help" She laughed at me and said "That's NOT going to happen!" She did say she would try again and call me back. That was 3 days ago...

This company basically reals you in with a quote then has their drivers bully you into taking the more exspensive option so that they make more money off of you. They are great until your move and then they will have nothing to do with you. They will do everything in their power to screw you over and unless you are a lawyer or have one on retainer you can't really do anything to stop them! I am due to pick have my stuff delivered o the 16th of August (If they follow through) and have yet to have any resolution to this issue.
