Don't waste your money on New Horizon Computer Learning Center. It's a complete ripoff!!!! Their program sounds wonderful, but don't buy into it!!!
Why???? They promised in six months I would be Certified as a Medical Biller/Coder; also an Administrative Assistant. Program also offer a MOS (Microsoft) exam, an and Excel program. They had given two courses and the third course we were not entitled too an was expected to pass this very difficult exams. Upmost impossible!!!!
Was excited to finish with these courses which were very difficult!!! Material that was presented was "way too much information" in such a short time frame. The one instructor was so monitone I had to leave her class; was not familar with her material she was presenting. Only read from the books captions an explained nothin. Most of the time our four hour class was two hours. (Keep in mind we only went two days a week); rest was self taught!
Now it was time to set up for an internship!!! Needless to say on several attempts I tried to contact their job coordinator, "big run around"!!! Excuse after excuse why they couldn't enroll me into an intership at my desired location. Then I found out that the job coordinator was leaving!!!! We were told that someone would be in contact with us. Has not happen!!!!!
Too make a long story short I still have NO INTERNSHIP!!! No response from there new job coordinator, and a hundred applications out in Michigan and still no job!!!! "It's been nine months now!!!! No one cares too help us, just the same senerio!!! I'll get back with you!!!!
With no internship from the school the few interviews that I have had refuses me.
1. Most employers don't recognize New Horizon National Health Alliance Certificate. "It's not an State Certified exam.
2. Lack of an internship
No one wants entry level individuals with no internship and a unrecognized certificate.
Don't waste your money or time on New Horizon, "go to college"!!!!!
