i placed 2 orders at newegg.com, then canceled both orders the very next day. i checked my credit card statement online and noticed my credit card was charged the same day i placed the order. ecommerce policy is to charge customer's credit card AFTER order has been shipped, NOT BEFORE! especially when the order has been canceled! at any rate, they refunded one order, but said they shipped the other. so i was going to refuse delivery, but i never received my package. i contacted newegg.com for a refund, but they would not oblige, so i filed a dispute with my credit card company thinking they would help. boy was i wrong! i remember someone once saying american express would fight to the death for their card members, but not 1 week later i got a letter from american express telling me newegg.com showed proof of delivery, and they would not refund! they told me to take it up with newegg.com,

so i tried logging into my newegg.com account to give them a piece of my mind, in the nicest way possible, mind you, and to my surprised, my account had been suspended! i've never used newegg.com before, this was my first purchase, and they suspended me for something THEY did wrong! you can be sure i will never buy from them again, not only b/c my account was suspended, either! LOL plus, i'm telling everyong i know to boycott their site, b/c they don't conduct themselves or their business in a professional manner. it's plain wrong to charge for merchandise/orders that were canceled and NEVER shipped. it's customary to charge the credit card AFTER the order ships. now, newegg.com won't refund my money and american express is NO help, either, so i'm stuck for the price of a stupid video game, plus i've been suspended from their site, to add insult to injury! i do NOT recommend this merchant, it's a ripoff all the way!

Dear Glenn,

I wish to offer my apologies for any of the inconveniences this situation may have caused. I can only speculate as to the exact reason your order wasnt immediately voided, but in most cases an orders void request may not process as a warehouse can ship the order prior to the requests fulfillment.

You also mentioned that this item never arrived and as such we shouldve been able to issue a lost package claim to replace or in this case refund this items cost. I encourage you to contact me to further discuss this situation to resolve it ASAP.

You can contact me at Maverick.B.Iniguez@newegg.com or call me at 1800-390-1119

Thank you,

Newegg.com

I already emailed a huge arse letter w/ all my info, i never got a reply!!!!!

AUTHOR: lana475 - (USA)

i've seen newegg.com pull this kind of thing before, where they watch review sites such as this like hawks and then refute them pretending to be all nice-nice and make it look like they're innocent and want to help, but truth of the matter is, they never do! i've read way too many ripoff reports about newegg.com, where they don't just charge your credit card before they ship your order, or ship it after it's been canceled, but worse... now i'm hearing horror stories of newegg.com FRAUD! mind you, no one will come out and claim that newegg.com was the one who committed the fraud, lest newegg.com threatens to sue for libel, but way too many people have had the same experience, in where their credit card gets charged for an order they never placed, then when they call newegg.com to inquire about the charge, newegg.com won't even tell them where the order was shipped to. granted, i can understand why they'd be scared to let out that information--they're afraid the victim will go beat up whoever's at the address they supposedly shipped your "fraudulent" order to, but come on now! this has been going on for a while and happened much too often to seem like an innocent mistake or like someone out there hacked their website and had a field day or, yet another possibility, of identity theft (provided the victim had a virus on their computer), etc. etc. etc. to me, it seems a little suspicious, but who knows. so, this guy actually thinks, given all the suspicious things that have been going on at newegg.com, that i'm about to email HIM all my account information????? yeah, right!!!!! i sent a long arse detailed email to customer service a while ago, to which i got NO response, so you seriously think this guy's going to help me? pfft! gimme a break! somehow they managed to show amex proof that they shipped my order, but like i said several times, i personally never received the package. besides, why are you asking me to email you my account info, being that you're a newegg.com employee, shouldn't you HAVE my account info already? it almost seems as if newegg.com employs special people to sit watch and refute each and every negative review that comes through here, or other review sites! LOL again, i emailed customer service a long detailed letter with all my account information, which they should have anyway, even if the account was suspended, to which they never replied, so why don't you go check it out and get back to me. i'll just hold my breath while i wait for you *turning blue*. seriously, this isn't an attack on amex by any means, but i really did expect a little more from them, you know. then again, this post isn't about amex, so forget i said anything! :-X anyway, i'd still appreciate a refund, that would be the noble and professional thing to do. again, holding breath *sigh*. let me know if amex comes through for you, though. good luck!

Dear lana475, First and foremost, I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused you. Its hard to provide you with accurate information without looking at your account, but if the order never shipped, there is no reason that I can think of that would cause us to deny your refund nor would it be possible for us to provide AMEX with proof of delivery. I would truly like to obtain your information so I can assist you in getting this resolved as quickly as possible. Please call me at 800-390-1119 ext 25092 or e-mail your Newegg account information to Joshua.L.KLey@newegg.com so this can be investigated for you. Thank you for your attention to this and I look forward to hearing from you. Newegg.com

we shall see

I will let you know what happens!  I charge more than $100k on this card a year, use it as my business card.  If AMEX won't do their job and act as a buffer between my and a poorly run vendor then Visa/Discover can have my business.  AMEX has acted as a very good buffer for me so far in other disputes, haven't had the negative experiences you have had.  We shall see right?

Amex will close the dispute and charge your credit card if merchant shows ANY kind of proof they shipped the order!

AUTHOR: lana475 - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, July 11, 2010

amex used to be good to their card members, from what i hear. but, it seems that all the mechant has to do is show proof they shipped your order and amex will close the dispute and side with the merchant. so, as long as newegg.com shows amex a copy of tracking information and/or delivery confirmation, no matter where it was delivered, if anywhere, then amex will close the dispute and charge your credit card the full amount. that's what they did to me *shrug*. hope it works out better for you *sigh*. i'm out $70 -- and newegg.com won't talk to me! good luck!

Same Exact Experience with New Egg

AUTHOR: Glenn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 11, 2010

Wow...I had the same weird experience.  Placed an order for a Nintendo DSI and a week later no shipping status, no feedback.  Chatted on line and told them I needed the Nintendo for a b-day gift and they needed to to let me know the status.  The chat person said they would check and to try again tomorrow.  The next day I got up on chat and they still had no status, so I told them to cancel the order and I bought it from another source.  They then sent me an email and said it had shipped, and had been delivered.  Not to my house it wasn't!!!!  Anyhow I am in dispute with AMEX as well right now.  If AMEX finds in these crooks favor, I will be cancelling that AMEX card!  I did try to log on to NewEgg and I am suspended as well...oh darn, I can't order anything from you crooks...lol
