I receieved my Sprint Mobile cell phone bill today (08-14-08) and discovered a 9.99 charge from pridictomobile .... a service that I'd NEVER heard of let alone subscribed to. I contacted Sprint to get the charge removed from my bill which they graciously agreed to do immediately and had them block any further charges to my or my wife's phones. I then call PridectoMobiles 800 number listed on their site and gave their customer service rep hell. They are using some type of phishing scam or unsoliceted text messages, or emails to gather cellular phone numbers then signing people up for their service unbeknownst to the subscriber. This is blatantly illegal and needs to be stopped. I urge any one who has been victumized by this company to contact the Attorney general's Office in their home state as well as the AGs offices in New York & Florida to file a complaint against this company. PredictoMobile is a wholey owned subsidurary of NextWeb Media, 888 7th Avenue, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10019 , telephone: 212-588-1180, fax: 212-588-1191. This company also has offices in Fort Lauderdale, FL., according to their web site at www.nextwebmedia.com/

Scamming the weakest

AUTHOR: john_SanFrancisco - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 06, 2009

Dear NextWeb Media / Predicto Customer representative,

While your NextWeb Media / Predicto CEO answers on Fox News LA on sexting trends and give advice to parents on how teens should use cell phone.

Here is what we can read on some cell phone service boards.

Here is a kid asking for help on T-Mobile

I just started receiving these random texts from Predicto.com asking me to vote and something about a $50,000 sweepstakes. I dunno what that is, but then I got suspicious so I went and checked my account balance on T-Zones. APPARENTLY, IT SAID I OWED $9.99 FOR A "DOWNLOAD." I checked Predicto.com, and it said it charged $9.99/mo as a "download" or "premium text," if you may, if you signed up. BUT I NEVER SIGNED UP. Oh my god, my dad is going to get SO MAD at me for something I never even did because he will think he cannot trust me with a phone. I MUST get rid of that $9.99 on that bill before it comes, or he's going to take away my phone FOR GOOD, even if I DO explain and am not wrong. He is just like that. I don't wanna cause him any trouble because he has enough on his mind with his hemorrhoids and such, so please guys, how can deal and get rid of that $9.99 that I never signed up for that's going to appear on the next bill statement?

Here is another complaints:

My 70 year old mother who knows nothing about text messaging showed me her phone the other day. On it was a bunch of messages from 654654. So we reviewed her bill and found that she had been paying $9.99 a month for Predicto service. Upon calling Verizon, they told us how to cancel the service and they promptly credited the amount. They also put a block on premium content.

Dear Customer representative, if you still have a rest of humanity or understand what human compassion means, please ask your company to stop this kind of business.

I think that your company scammed enough people (your CEO claimed 1.8 Millions people) now to start another business that does not target the weakest in our society.

Beware check cell phone bills for Premium TXT Messaging

AUTHOR: john_SanFrancisco - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 06, 2009

Dear Predicto / NextWeb Media Customer service rep,

Did you present your apologies to hundreds of thousand subscribers who are represented in the class action started on 9/17/2009 in Eastern District of Michigan for such little things as common law breach of contract, unfair or deceptive business acts or practices, tortuous interference with a contract, or unjust enrichment?

Actually NextWeb Media owns several bogus like Predicto, Residential Email and other bogus companies which run the unthorized scam across the country and millions of Americans get billed $9.99 most of the time without knowing it.

In 2006, your actual CEO and President (EYAL YEZCHEKELL and ITAI KATHEIN) were previously involved in  another cramming scam (or unauthorized billing scam) organized by  Email Discount Network, LCC, another company  they founded, they walked away by paying a settlement. See court link to Georgia, Florida, Washington States court and Attorney General sites:

See Washington State Office settlement agreement (EDN)
http://www.atg.wa.gov/pressrelease.aspx?id=14424

See Georgia Settlements (EDN)

See Georgia Subscriber Refunds
http://www.georgia.gov/00/article/0, 2086, 5426814_5684686_80061913, 00.html

See state State of Florida complaint:
http://myfloridalegal.com/webfiles.nsf/WF/JFAO-6U3MJB/$file/EDNComplaint.pdf

According to the Attorney General, people were enrolled in the Florida scam even if they didnt have access to any computer to register.

For the actual action, you can read the whole file at http://www.courthousenews.com/2009/09/18/Alltel2.pdf

In this scam, Predicto / NextWeb Media charges you if you buy a new cell phone. You then get billed because the previous customer  get billed.  The technique is simple: you get billed by Predicto . NextWeb Media once they get your cell phone number.

Urgent: To all readers, check your cell phone bills for unknown charges. Some people have been charged for monthes for a service they never used.

Elderly, kids and teens are targeted: help check their bills.
