Niello Mini Purchased brand new mini cooper, engine blew at 12,000 miles, told we would recieve a new engine, we did not get a new engine, new block and parts. Sacramento California

Niello Mini of Sacramento of California, sold us a brand new Mini Cooper for approx. $35,000.00. At 12,000 miles, the engine blew. One of the service manager's said we must have driven it through a irrigation ditch. We assured him we had not driven our new vehicle through an irrigation ditch. He said he would have to check what could be done about it. We were then told we would get a new engine. It's now three years later and the mini broke down again. When my husband explained to the mechanic what we had gone through, he was surprised the next day when he looked at the car. That they had not given us a new engine. He said don't get upset, dealer's do this. But I am very surprised at 12,000 miles, they didn't just replace the engine. You got a new block but not a new engine. Cost of new repair for the most expensive air conditioner that could be ordered at the time is $1,600.00. Had I known at the time I was driving away with a $35,000.00 car with initially a rebuilt engine, this would never have happened. I feel I was taken advantage of and can't wait to see the new problems that pop up with our rebuilt Mini.
