Nieman Marcus Stole $125 on a gift card Dallas, Texas

My wife received $125 Neiman Marcus gift card as a birthday gift in 2001. A few times she went to the local store, but was not able to find something she liked. As there was no expiration date on the card she did not worry. Wrong!

In 2006 she decided to get some cosmetics, but to her amazement was told that the card has expired. The store however offered to replace the card with a newer type of a card. By the time they finished, she had no time and left. Again, no expiration date.

Fast forward to 2010... The story repeats itself, except this time there is nothing they could or would do about the "expired" card with no expiration date.

Yes, we took a long time to spend this money, but this is our business - Neiman Marcus received the payment and instead of $125 gave a piece of plastic. For 8+ years they had our money interest-free (yes, I know it is very little, but I'm making a point). To declare (twice!) that the card that has no expiration date on it has expired? How convenient for them! In our book this is a plain theft.
