I learned a nasty lesson form Harte Nissan of Hartford, also known as Harte Suzuki. From the first day I went there I was talked down to without a doubt I know they would not do such things if i was a man. They figured I knew nothing about vehicles but they implied that vehicles with warranty is a no hassle for the consumer. Now I know warranty is useless if they company don't stand by it might as well i kept my old Honda. At first i thought all i had to do was pay for the car but now I know i have to be paying to remake the whole Suzuki. Inside of the vehicle in the pass year or more I have spent over 2,000 dollars of my own pocket money for exchanging parts. Excluding the all four RIMS AND tires which had to be change. When i first Got the car the dash board light came on I brought it back to their customer-service that very week because I had school to attend and they tried to charge me $90 service charge for. All they said is the tire lights will always come on when the weather changes because of pressure- Know how in the world would I know that if a dealer didn't say that. Its just a over all night mere with this company and their service. Concerning the Lights on the dash board they took less than 5 mins to click the switch off. The next day it was on I thought it was normal till i figured the 4 rims and wheel is what it was indicating to. The other lights that say see dealerships still comes on i have tried many times some times they turn me away, some times they said they looked at it thy didn't do anything, and once when i threaten to call the news they came back with an extra $1700 bill, They have been so demeaning to me so i am stuck with a vehicle with the dash light on even till today which states see dealership, wheel, engine. Maybe if i didn't have to be paying for all the repair I would enjoy the car and paid off for the vehicle by now. The Suzuki corporation - after this experience with the Lemon I wil never buy a car from anything name Harte for they are heart less and Suzuki.

To be Fair....

The Service Manager from Harte Nissan and I spent a great deal of time speaking with this customer just yesterday. It is disheartening when, as a company, we go above and beyond to help and still have comments like "scummy service" posted online.
The facts of the issue are this: This customer purchased a new suzuki from us in 2008. This vehicle has a factory warantee that comes standard with the vehicle; but like all warantees, has some stipulations in terms of what it covers.
In 2010, the customer brought her vehicle into our dealership with two concerns: One that she had her 4 tires and rims damaged, from what she admitted yesterday was probably a pothole. The tires and rims were fixed, according to her, through her insurance company. The second was an issue with the daytime running lights- which we addressed by showing her the switch that turns them off.
Harte Nissan has never charged this customer anything for any service what-so-ever. We have tried to assist her in all ways and recommend services, which she has declined.
She informed us yesterday during our phone conversation that she has another issue with a light on in her dashboard. She is returning to us today to allow us to determine why.
I cannot comment on her experience with our sales staff, as to the best of my knowledge, her last contact with sales was in 2008. I can say that as a woman myself who works directly for Mr. Harte on a corpate level, it is our policy as a company to be fair to all our customers regardless.
Harte Auto Group, Mr. Harte and myself place the highest level of importance on customer service and satisfaction. I provided this customer with my direct contact information and let her know that I am available to discuss any issues at any time. I am still available to discuss any issues at any time.

What was the odometer reading?

"it was my belief and the representation that the car was NEW- no issues, UN-defected, no prior driver"
Did you look at the odometer? If you have documentation that indicates the car was new and it was a used car then you can have them charged with fraud. They will give you your money back in a heartbeat to avoid that.
"I am not quite sure If those of you who posted as customers really are as you say."
Other than you, who claimed to be a customer? Is that the same brain that you engaged when you believed you were purchasing a new car?

No Doubt I did learn a nasty lesson the first week with the car- It was too late to return as they stated I would be committing abandonment- And i would still owe the value of the vehicle. It won't happen again. When I purchase the vehicle I was a sophomore in college who needed a New vehicle for immediate transportation- I did not think to get a mechanic because it was my belief and the representation that the car was NEW- no issues, UN-defected, no prior driver. I thought that the company operated on integrity- But the fact has been proven otherwise from my own experience, and those of other customers I know. Now I know the next car i purchase will never come from there. I want no part of their name or any brand they sell. It is my strong belief that if i did have a male they would of taken the car back or stop me from purchasing. Things would of been different. They perceived me as a timid female due to the fact I was alone putting my self through school and I needed a new car ASAP. They gave me one that have numerous issues which needed numerous diagnostics. Just know every-word I said is accurate and is correct it is my personal experience with their scummy service. Also I have been notified that the company knows about this posting so I am not quite sure If those of you who posted as customers really are as you say. From my experience the sale men from there have proven themselves time and time again not to be trusted and demeaning. Believe it or not I really had a horible experience with this company and I will never buy anything from them again. everytime the flyer comes to my house i throw it in the trash without hesitation. Now i wish instead of a rebuttle from their sales man they would sell with intergity. So that it's easy to sleep at night. But I guess they don't have a heart!

perhaps you know nothing about buying a car.
"....all four RIMS AND tires which had to be change"
"The next day it was on I thought it was normal till i figured the 4 rims and wheel is what it was indicating to."
Why did all four rims and tires have to be changed? Do you run on flats and/or hit curbs?
Or did you change them due to the "light" coming on?
"i am stuck with a vehicle with the dash light on even till today which states see dealership, wheel, engine."
Does this mean you now need to change the engine?
"...and once when i threaten to call the news they came back with an extra $1700 bill"
They billed you an "extra" $1700 for threatening to call the news?
You did tell the "news" about that didn't you? What was the "extra" $1700 for?

Are you sure you want to stick with the "because I am a woman" story? That's just a cop out. It doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman. If you walk into a dealership completely unprepared to buy a car, you will get fleeced. Your complete lack of due diligence has absolutely nothing to do with your gender. It has to do with being lazy. Did you bother to research the vehicle? Did you bother to take it to a mechanic and have it checked out? These are just two of the basic things that have to be done to avoid buying a lemon.
" From the first day I went there I was talked down to without a doubt I know they would not do such things if i was a man. "
And yet you stayed there, accepted the abuse, then rewarded them for it by buying a car. It's hard to take your complaint seriously if you were still willing to do business with them. And your positive reinforcement of their methods insures that such practices will continue. Why should they change their methods if they produce positive results? Here's a clue, anyone who acts like a doormat (male or female) gets treated poorly at car dealerships. This will happen every time if you don't change the way you do things.

"i thought all i had to do was pay for the car"
You thought incorrectly. Before paying for a car the customer should test-drive, evaluate, investigate and negotiate.
"the tire lights will always come on when the weather changes because of pressure- Know how in the world would I know that if a dealer didn't say that"
By reading the operator's manual. Basic automobile operation includes knowing that air expands when heated and compresses when cooled.
Are you referring to warning lights on the dash when you mentioned the dashboard light? Proper communication with your mechanic is essential.
You learned a lot here today. Aren't you glad I posted this reply?
