Nissan 2000 Maximas have defective ignition coils. At least 60 consumer complaints filed on www.NSTA.dot.gov website. Customer service is unresponsive at best. ABS brake problems are also common on Nissan vehicles.
Would not recommend buying Nissan cars. They are pushing new models out too quickly and not addressing problems and recalls in a timely manner. It's like pulling teeth trying to get a response out of them.
Hopefully if enough people file complaints through NHSTA, FTC, BBB Autoline maybe a recall will happen. In the mean time i recommend saving receipts for repairs and waiting for Nissan to do the right thing. Nissan has an image problem right now but it will take management a few years to realize how bad they have become. When the corporate board can no longer fudge the numbers and get audited that's when they will have a true grasp of what is going in.
Too bad just about every company has to go through this in order for change to take place. To be fair Nissan is one of many evil corporations that are just greedy and only care about the bottom line. They will only change if they are sued or forced by the government to do something. Don't beleive the P.R. Bull sh--.

i have worked for a nissan dealership as a technician for over 7 years.you state that there are 60 complants for ign coils on 2000 maximas.i have had to replace a few coils on these cars but they have sold about 300,000 2000 maximas so 60 complants to 300,000 cars sold should mean a recall. i don't think so. also what kind of abs brake problems are you talking about i have only seen a very very few abs problems on nissan cars.i work on nissans every day and think they are a very well built car
