I promise....there were issues....just read to the end. How they handled (or didn't handle) getting things fixed is at the end. Had to tell the story the way it was :)

We started the process of purchasing our home somewhere in Sept. or Oct. of 2007. We had been to plenty of dealerships, looked, and looked and finally come across Prestige sales. We had open communication with the salesperson. It was delivered within almost 2 months of putting our deposit down. Everything moved soooo nicely!! The salesperson was never an issue at all...ok...just once...but it wasn't his fault. We upgraded everything we could think of...carpet, appliances, windows, skylite, ect. So, we contacted him about getting wrap all the way around the house. He called the factory, and called us back and said it would get done. It never was.

We did about 4 or 5 visits to the factory to watch our home be put together, just not catching that part of it at the end. It was amazing watching it being put together! I was so excited everytime we went.

Well, the home was delivered on a Wednesday and it took them no time at all to get everything in order. We had both inspections done by the end of the following week and set up for the power to be turned on that Friday late afternoon because the final inspection was coming late that morning.

The phone company showed up that Friday afternoon to do their part along with the satellite guy. They kind of worked side by side...LOL! The phone guy installed 2 phone jacks for me in the 2 bedrooms and asked that I check them now that he was done. No tone. We checked for tone in the master bedroom, and nothing (factory did this line). So, the phone guy asked to check the kitchen line (also factory done). There was nothing there either.

Further into the phone guy checking things out, he pulled out a clump of wire behind the jack in the kitchen. It was not hooked into anything and was wadded up behind the wall looking like it had been in a shredder. The same for the master bedroom. It cost me $150 to have those wires replaced. I know, I could have waited for Nobility, but I wanted my phone lines to be right. I wanted things done NOW I guess. The phone guy was already here and working. Anyway, all was taken care for $150!

This is in addition to the $650 we wrote out to upgrade carpet, the check I wrote to add more floor joists....and all the other stuff we paid extra for to make things as nice as possible!

Anyway, the electric company's truck pulled up almost at 5pm. He looked at the pole really confused and said 'I guess you're wanting this done today'. I about flipped over. I said of course because I want to stay here tonite! He shook his head as if he couldn't do it that easily! He was kidding! Anyway, about 20 minutes later, we had electric! Yeah! We could stay in the house that nite! Well, as I walked through the house putting in light bulbs, I noticed the kitchen light wasn't working. And the more I went through that half, there were several lights and outlets not working! They did send a repairman out the following week, about mid-week or so. Remember I couldn't call them until Monday. This repairman didn't even take his shoes off or cover them with paper booties! I moved my throw carpets where he was walking through the living room....and he went straight around them the next time! Ok....$650 didn't mean much to him, but it did to me. Heck, my family dog of 4 years (she's our baby) isn't even allowed to come in our living anymore because of the carpet.

The guy fiddled around walking in and out. Then he finally said he don't know why they sent him because he wasn't qualified to do this stuff. Wow...something a customer really wants to hear especially since it's dealing with their electrical work. Anyway, a few days later, they sent someone else and it was fixed. No problem.

Now, backing up to the Friday nite we got everything turned on and were getting excited that we could actually stay in our own home again...we were surprised as nite fell, and it was getting VERY COLD outside....our heater was not working! That got fixed pretty quick. That company that installed it came right out as soon as we called.

Anyways....A month or two went by as we were moving in and getting things where we wanted them, I finally contacted someone about the phone lines. They gave me a name of L.J. Anderson. So, I sent him a registered letter which I got back. He did manage to reach me on the phone though. I guess he saw the card with our last name and knew who we were. He informed me to send my phone bill with the $150 charge on it, and he would talk to his supervisor. I thought L.J. was a supervisor from what I was told? I lost his fax number, but plan on sending it by mail along with pictures of the chopped up phone wires. I'll see what happens from there.

Now, we've been in here for almost 8 months. I recently called service again....got L.J. on the phone. Didn't realize that until afterwards...darn! I had to call because my daughter noticed the drain in her tub was not holding water. I was told to send him an email with as much info in it as possible (our name, serial number of the house, problem, ect). I am going to get to that as soon as I can as well.

I am just frustrated I have to jump hoops over the phone lines (that wasn't my fault) and dealing with no heat the first 3 or 4 nites we tried to enjoy our new house. Not alone the deal with the electric missing in part of the house and the repairman not being considerate of a new home with new carpet! I feel the least they could have done was replace my $150. That's a small price to make someone happy that dealt with all this.

Other than the $150, all I wanted from them was my drain in the second bath fixed. Is that too much? Am I being unreasonable for asking them to reimburse me the $150? Uggggh....Now that 8 months have gone by that we've been occupying this house, I have things finally done and put where I want them! Now, I'm going to see what happens with the $150 and also see how long (now that they have our money and a legal contract for us to pay the bank--they are free from us!) and what else they want to know before they come fix the drain! I will update as soon as I hear something!! Expect several months though!

Thanks to anyone who actually got through this whole big book! LOL!
