I came to this site some time back to obtain information, regarding my particular situation, so let me illustrate that my situation had nothing to do with not paying child support, but what I owed was interest that had accumulated over the years (30 years) the interest was that when I submitted my monthly child support payment, I did not include a 2% court trustee fee that was required, needless to say that compounded through out the years.

I read all the reviews, and it seemed that all were positive in regards to FATHERS OF AMERICA I also read Kevins and what he had to say, and now I understand what he went through, what he stated also happened to me, sometimes different situations are resolved in a precarious way.

I signed up in 04/08/2008, I received my FL150 form (income expense declaration) in 06/11/208 (2) months later, I then paid the filing fees and the serving fees, I figured they were professionals so I paid (F.O.A.) to take care of this. My court date was finally set for 12/09/2008 thats 8 months after my signing up, sorry to say but F.O.A.) started to become a big disappointment, on the court date, the judge informed me that this case had to be continued to 03/09/2009 due to the fact that the mother had not been served in the proper allocated time frame, again another screw up of (F.O.A.).

So here we are 12 months later and nothing to speak of. I have 108 emails that I have submitted to (F.O.A.) I was always staying in touch and giving them a heads up with any information I came across, I contacted my ex by email and phone to negotiate a settlement, because the interest that I owed goes to her which I dont feel is right, but thats not my call, again this is what (F.O.A.) was suppose to do on my behalf.

Some of our emails were to confirm what was agreed upon, (my ex would tell me what was presented to her and I would contact (F.O.A.) or they would email me back to disclose information, but the excuses was always, well were waiting on your ex to respond, and when I confronted my ex she told me that she had not received anything from (F.O.A.). So it was a case of, she said, I sent it, I am waiting for the reply or the forms to be filled out.

I am retired and on social security and what I was trying to accomplish was an affordable payment plan, I know that I can not beat this system, and as I said I have paid my child support, but what I owe is interest to the state. My final court date was in 11/23/2009, 19 months later and a cost to me of $975.00 to (F.O.A.) and you want to know what is really funny is on that day 11/23/2009 when the attorney asked me what I was doing here in court that day, I showed him my papers and she informed me that the papers had not been filed with the court, so here we are, another wasted day going to court, how can any one have any confidence with a company like that? So they screwed up on 02/09/2008 and again on 11/23/2009 and their responses are a pack of lies they always have some lame excuse, so I decided to get out of this before it went out of control,

I just dont want to deal with people like this or a company that is so unprofessional. My advice to others would be go to your( family law facilitator), its free they give you all the proper paper and help you out filling and filing of your forms. so before some of you start passing judgment to Kevin read this very carefully, this happened to me and its going to happen to others. I have emails of Kim Jason (the one in command@ F.O.A.) that we battled back and forth and as far as I am concerned he is a low life scum bag, if you want proof of the emails, I have them.
