To start i have had degenerative disc problems of the lower back for the last fifteen years. My legs are now going numb during walks as the doctors said would happen. I came in contact with the non-surgical spine care center at a public event as i was having trouble with pain. They said great things and i bought in to the idea they were selling.

Long story short 5600.00 is what they charged me for 15 to 30 visits that entailed, fifteen minutes on the rack to decompress my spine, heat, water table treatment, and ice pack with back support. Ten treatments in my regular doctor advised that this treatment is not going to bring the disc back or make you better.

I terminated the service for medical reasons, although having signed a contract wanted to know what i owed that i could not go on with this treatment. I had only been treated for about 10 hours, which was three times a week one hour a day. I got the no return phone calls from them with refund information and always was told my call would be returned and was not.

I can only assume that i am being charged the total amount 5600.00 for 10 hours of treatment with the idea that they were repairing my spine when in reality was never going to happen.

AUTHOR: Dr. Barry Martin Schleider D.C. - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 19, 2017

I am sorry to read the complaint for several reason.  First and foremost this patient listened to another Doctor and took their recommendations over mine.  We are a very busy clinic and have had thousands of sucess stories of patients suffering just as this patient suffered and got well, enjoying their life and engaging in the activies of their life once again.  I tell every patient that there is an unknow amount of visits befoer the patient can start to receive benefit from their treatment.  Some people respond very early on and others it takes more time.

I tell all of my patients that it takes somewhere between 15 and 35 visits to acquire enough hydration into the disc to begin to relieve their symptoms.  I also am the only clinic that I know that does not have a finite amount of care that I am willing to give to get someone well.  For that exact reason that I just explained, that being everyone is an individual and responds differently.  This patient states that they only had 10 visits.  I would not expect someone to see much improvement in only 10 visits.  I am not allowed to see a person's name who filed the report to see exactly how many visits they truly received.  I do have a signed refund policy that is explained in detail to the patient prior to their signing.  This is something that they sign and agree to.

So in conclusion, I entitled this response Unfortunate for the simple reason that it is truly sad that this person probably would have responded well yet chose on their own to discontinue treatment.  As a Doctor it is my job to educated the patient about the conditiion they suffer from and to prescribe the necessary care to get them well.  In this case it was not a lack of desire on my part to provide the service that is sucessfull again thousands of time before with similar case, but rather the patients non compliance to my recommendation and their desire to discontinue care.

I feel that the title of this site "Rip Off Report" is something that is pretty harsh.  I would expect anyone reading this rebuttal to fully understand that the problem was not with me or my staff or clinic, yet with the patient that chose to not follow through with a treatment program that works very well with no medication, no injections, no surgery, and no secondary negative effects.  I would also expect someone reading this rebuttal to see very clearly that we did nothing to "Rip Off" this patient or any other patient we have seen.  Unfortunately on the internet anyone can say something negative about you and your clinic.  Most times you will see negative accusation, but no one speaks of the thousands that are well because of our care.
