Contacted North American Relocation via the internet to bid on a small shipment from Washington state to Texas. Nate Webb, sales rep., quoted a price and delivery time of 7-10 days. He was given an approximate box count and other furniture pieces. He said there would be an allowance of 200 cubic feet and a weight limitation. The driver was scheduled to arrive before 4 PM on May 30th.

There was no contact by 4PM and a call was made. The representative said the driver was delayed because of DOT rest requirements and they would not arrive until the following day. Hotel rooms were already reserved as well as airline tickets. A family representative stayed at the residence while the family left for the airport. The driver arrived the following morning and loaded the small shipment.

He charged an additional $200 for wrapping a queen mattress set and an additional 30 cubic feet of shipment. The cusomer carefully measured the shipment at less than 160 cu. ft. and was absolutely the shipment was well under the allowed 200 cu. ft.. Nate Webb assured the customer that wrapping of the bed would be included in the shipping quote. Ripped Off by $200. When 10 days had passed, the shipper was called to inquire about the shipment.

On June 11 customer was told delivery on June 14 or 15. Several messages were left with shipper and no one would reply. On June 15, contacted David Clark who promised delivery on June 16 or 17. Many unanswered calls followed and finally on June 24 the furniture was delivered. The $50 charge for special packing of the mattresses was a packing blanket and plastic wrap which arrived torn and the mattress soiled. Two casters on a china cabinet were broken off. Otherwise the shipment arrived okay.

The customers are 90 and 91 years old. They had paid for an apartment with meals at a cost of just under $100 per day. North American Relocation Group said they would discount the shipping by $200 for our inconvenience. They would not address the fraud in charging excess cubic footage on the shipment.

We have filed a complaint with the BBB and have only received lip service from North American Relocation Group.

I could never get anyone to call me back, and once my stuff was delivered most of it was crushed or broken and my $1500 Kirby Vacuum is missing. Of course no one will return our calls. I honestly want to get a lawyer
