I went into the company in June last year 2012 and got $1900.00 loan with my title for a 2004 Chevy Impala. The agreement was supposed to be that I would have it paid off with that payment amount by Christmas.
Christmas comes and I go in to make my payment and these people are telling me I owe like $2400 still. I asked what would it take to make it paid off that next payment and they told me it would be $2000 dollars.
So in February of 2013 I had made $3213 in payments and decided I would try to get out from under these people by giving $500 and they said they would stop interest on the loan and that totalled me in paying $3713 and I would have to make 3 payments of $350.00.
Now I am no math expert but that would round off a $2000 dollar loan to $4763 dollars. That is outrageous. I refused to pay it and I am seeing via the internet that I am not the only one scammed into this kind of mess. I also have had harrassing voicemails from the company.
I advised the company in February the car was down and needed a new transmission and that is why they worked out this deal but then come March they are trying to say it is 4 more payments of the $350 dollars. I also tried to sell the car for $1050 dollars which was originally the pay off amount so I could get the company its money and get out from beneath the loan and when I called the company they then said they would not take that amount for pay off the new total was $1900 dollars.
Obviously this company is lying and being money hungry because they could've settled my debt but instead refuse. So, now the car is just sitting and I am just waiting for them to pick it up and at this point I do not care because they are scam artist. The car is blue booked in fair condition with all running parts at $3357, so I took the amount of a new transmission and repair of $2000 out of the blue booked price and the cost would be $1357 dollars that they could get out of it. So, I am not going to pay them. I am going to let them come get the car and deal with it.

The agreement was supposed to be that I would have it paid off with that payment amount by Christmas.
- What does this mean?  Because I really hope that you are not actually saying that you thought you only had to pay them back $1900 on a $1900 loan.

Now I am no math expert but that would round off a $2000 dollar loan to $4763 dollars. That is outrageous
- Yep totally agree with you on both of those statements.  The problem is that you agreed to pay their outrageous interest rates when you got the loan, and you don't get to dictate when enough is enough.

I am going to let them come get the car and deal with it.
- Do you want to know how they are going to deal with it?  Well all during this time while you have an unpaid balance interest is continuing to accrue.  When they finally decide to pick it up they will sell it at an auction.  In the condition you are describing they may get $500 for it.  Now, the best news for you is that they will deduct that amount from the balance owed.  The bad news is that you are still going to owe the difference.  If you fail to pay this amount they can(and probably will) take you to court.  Unless you get very lucky to get a judge who thinks you paid enough.  In court the judge will most likely issue a judgement against you for the amount owed.  Then depending on your state they may have the right to garnish your wages or attach your bank accounts until the balance is paid.

One other thing is that if the car is in the condition you say, they may not even pick up the car.  They may just take you directly to court.
