North Shore Agency, Inc. - Preventio/Rodale Publishing Sent my 75 yr old Mother to Collections for a subscribtion that was never ordered!! Melville New York

My 75 year old Mother received a notice from North Shore Agency trying to collect on an allegedly "renewed" subscription of Prevention Magazine (Rodale Publishing).

I know from my experience as a manager that once turned over the a collection agency that any monies owed, and collected, goes to the agency, who then sends a portion to the company that has hired them. The fact that the remittance is direct to Prevention was what made me suspicious.

My Mother has sterling credit and always pays an invoice as soon as received. She never requested, or approved, a renewal of this magazine, and has never received an invoice for it.

Upon researching the "collection agency" I found that others have also been sent notices from this agency from various companies trying to collect monies that are not owed.

I will be reporting all parties involved to our Better Business Bureau.
