North State Security Honest Pay For Honest Work Redding California

Been in the workforce for 17 years. First job I ever quit. Never been fired.
First off I personally enjoyed the work; great work site with friendly people, great staff on NSS's part. Would have loved to stay. Seems great right?

Here's my quick experience with NSS from start to finish:

>Been through the police academy. Only wanting security job at the moment.
>Find ad on craigslist, security jobs $12.50-$14, lots of overtime. Not great but overtime will be good.
>Apply, get job, super friendly staff.
>Needed Guard Card, pay for and took 8 hr class
>Pay for livescan/background check- 100% clean
>Get drug tested- 100% clean
>Provide DMV record- 100% clean
>Take 4hr hazard class to get certified to work on the site I'm assigned.
>Finally get weekly schedule. Can't wait to finally start.

>Long a*s shifts. I'm down! Today I start at 5AM. Tomorrow I start at... 5PM... no big deal, I don't sleep much. I can handle my sleep schedule going full-circle every week.
>Do my job, working a patrol vehicle. Apprehend trespassers. On the lookout for thieves and poachers. Keeping busy. Hoping I don't run into the wrong person. Honest pay for honest day.

>Get paycheck.
>Minimum wage plus 50 cents. Zero dollars overtime...How?
>Shifts longer than 8hrs were strategically scheduled to overlap into the next day in order to avoid receiving any
overtime.
>Learn about overtime loopholes

>Realize a 9-5 McJob pays the same without the insane hour rotation and overtime avoidance loopholes.
>Plus less risk.

>Realize I'm working McSecurity.

>Hand in two week notice, trying to be decent person, explain minimum wage issue.
>Boss claims that CRAIGslist ad for $12.50 only pertained to fire camps.
>Boss explains there have been zero fire camp contracts this summer. Claims minimum wage was mentioned
somewhere in paperwork.

>Boss continues to run ad despite position never existing and summer ending in a couple weeks.
