It is with dismay I write this review. I purchased an "as is" 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer from Northern Ford to be shipped to the state of Washington. I live in that region and relied on the honesty and integrity of the Sales Managers (David) assessment of the vehicle (interior, frame, body integrity) throughout the purchase process. Unfortunately I discovered on the Jeeps arrival in Washington the frame was not road worthy and actually left the vehicle dangerous to drive. This despite assurances the undercarriage was in reasonable shape. David offered to replace the frame but the damage to the frame, undercarriage and side panels was so extensive the frame by itself would make no difference.

We agreed a payment offer to settle the transaction but the dealer did not meet the offer in the end. The vehicle was sold for junk. I operate on the notion that trust and integrity in a business transaction is still possible in today's business climate. David and his team demonstrated a lack of trust and integrity in this matter. David disagrees with me but one motto that he needs to remember and still holds true today is "when all else fails, the customer is always right!" When dealing with this dealer, especially from Canada where I also reside, make sure you secure an independent assessment of any vehicle before purchase form Northern Ford. Buyer beware.

Don't Use "Trust" As A Cover Up!

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, August 15, 2016

What you did was send off your money to somebody you don't know to buy a USED CAR based ONLY on pictures on a computer screen, words in an e-mail and a voice of somebody you didn't know on the end of the phone!  To top that off, you bought this thing "AS IS" which means it could have been in ANY condition!  There's a HUGE DIFFERENCE between trusting someone based on SOUND reasons to trust them and failure to use even a thimble full of COMMON SENSE!  Nearly everybody knows the deserved reputation of the Sleazy American Car Business!  Anybody with half a brain knows FOR A FACT you need to be a SMART CONSUMER when dealing with any car dealer rather than going in hat-in-hand and playing the role of a sucker.  Should this car dealer had been honest?  Of course.  However, its as OBVIOUS as the rising sun, you failed to use common sense by not even laying your eyes on this thing but going thru this stupid transaction anyway!  Go ahead and get mad at me.  Maybe that's what it take for you to remember what you did to play hand-in-hand to someone who was just waiting for you or someone like you to come along!  Where do you people come up with this stupid idea of buying used cars sight unseen is beyond disbelief!
