I made a mistake and signed a 3 year contract with these A-HOLES. I waited out the contract and sent them a letter to cancel- in writing- snail mail registered mail with return receipt. I was within the 60 day period they required.

TODAY I received 11- yes I said 11 different invoices from them- requesting over 2400 dollars.
I had never missed a payment and never skipped a payment or had NSF for the entire three years. I performed my end of the contract. Now they want to extend it another three years.

When I got to the third idiot on the phone there today- I was told they would get their money one way or another. Yet they even admitted they had the letter, but they did not enter it in their system as having received it for 33 days.

So it was signed for March 11th, and entered as "received" on April 16th.

They said it didn't matter when it was signed for, and that I had already been renewed.

I told them that was theivery, and they said- "too bad- it is what you signed."

She said this will go on my credit.
Big deal. A known thieving alarm company wants to put me in collections? Ummm-okay.

They also said they had the right to levy my account for the whole amount of 2466 dollars.

I called my bank and told them what happened. They have heard many stories in the past 3 months regarding this very same company. We closed my account so that Northstar has no acccess. It was all we could do.

NorthStar is a scam

AUTHOR: Robert b - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 25, 2009

I am also a victim of Northstar Alarm scam. Even after my three year contract has expired and I asked to cancel, this company wants a fourth year contract in order to cancel. When you call customer service you are dealing with professional ripoff personal. I can't say enough about this company. I myself have talked out over 20 customers from dealing with NorthStar, even after 5 years I still let everyone around me know about NorthStar and reffer them to this site. That is the least I can do to minimize their crime.

NorthStar victim,
Robert.

I'm sorry to hear there were misunderstandings with the contract. Thank you for mentioning the problems you experienced with our billing; now we can improve our processes in the future. I know how frustrating it can be to close bank accounts to protect your money. We want to make sure we are being fair to our customers and that both parties are receiving what was agreed to in the contract. While we can't get rid of previous frustration, we'd like to look at your account again and see if we can come to a better solution. Please contact customer care so we can address your concerns.
