Technicians were helpful and qualified, but this company is fraudulent.  Company has not returned $3350 deposit 3 weeks after promising a refund. NSM is stalling and avoiding phone calls and emails. Northstar Mechanical (NSM) was assigned by home warranty company to inspect 2 heating units. 2 heating units were found defective. NSM provided a quote for installation and required 50% deposit for purchase of materials. Deposit check for $3350 was provided on Nov 3 and the check was immediately cashed. Planned installation date was Nov 14th. I called NSM on 11/9 and requested the installation be cancelled due to slow processing of home warranty claim with warranty company.

I spoke with Curt (Manager) and confirmed materials had not been ordered and he approved a refund. I received and email on 11/9 from Diane Hill stating the refund would be issued at the end of the week, "The accountant is out of the office as Curt has already discussed with you. Refunds are sent out week and your refund will be taken care of accordingly". I have made several calls and emails a week to NSM requesting an update on the refund. A check was supposedly mailed on 11/19 for the full refund amount and a check number was provided. I have not received the check after 2 weeks (mail takes 3 days). NSM will not provide a Xerox copy of check stub, provide anything in writing, to validate a check was actually sent.

I only get second hand excuses from the front desk staff about key personnel being out of the office or unavailable.
