I earned a BA and an MBA from Norwich and I also worked there for about a year.  I know enough about this school to tell you that you do not want to be educated here and you sure as hell don't want to be employed here.

Education?  They tell every student that a Norwich degree is so important that it will most certainly help you to obtain employment after graduation.  They'll even tell you that more than 90% have jobs upon graduating.  This, of course, is a bold faced lie!  I can't begin to tell you how many employers and even graduates of certain military academies have never heard of Norwich University in their lives.  I have faced roughly three years of unemployment because of my Norwich education!

Employment?  If you're not a member of the "good ole boy" club you cannot get anywhere at Norwich. In order to be in this element, you either have to be related to the higher ranking staff at the University or have a lot of money.  Reason for this being is that Norwich is a VERY small school so being a big fish in a little pond is usually the goal of some of these "good ole boys".  Not to mention, the town is so small that it would completely collapse if it wasn't for the business the college brought into the town.

Administrative secret:  NU Professors seek to lessen their class sizes by selecting highly difficult textbook materials and systematically failing certain students.  Why is this happening?  Because the University doubled the work loads of the professors.  NU professors are supposed to have anywhere between 13 and 18 students.  When the school doubled this number, the professors demanded a raise and the administration told them to get lost. So now the students suffer because of institutional politics.

Finally, I was sexually harassed by my supervisor.  When I rejected her, I was set for termination six months later because it took her a while to get rid of me.  When I reported this to the human resource manager, he looked at me, shook his head and refused to take me at my word...as though I was making it up.

In a nutshell, the students and lower level employees at Norwich suffer mercilessly, while the "good ole boys" are laughing all the way to the bank with your tuition money. My advice...go to a state university or a military academy.  You'll be much better off.

Incompetence VS Work Ethic & Credentials

I worked in the office of class relations at the University.  My coworker and I had MBAs and our supervisor, who took nine years to finish her undergrad due to laziness (and had two DUIs while she was on the job), AND was in no way qualified to be in her position, immediately showed signs of being threatened and made our lives hell.

Her name is Hilary Davis.  She is a substandard leader and knows nothing of leadership outside of female hockey.  If this idiot ever reads this, I want her to know that leading on the ice is different from leading an organization.  After all, you can't get drunk on the job.  

Her boss is Paul Bova...an equally incompetent, perverted, over-sexed egomaniac who gets off on guilt-tripping money out of old people.  He played an integral role in driving good people out of the company.  Little secret about Paul Bova - this idiot couldn't do his job in another department, but since he was a "good ole boy" he just got moved to the development department where he was made Assistant VP of Development.  

He was SO incompetent in this role that they had to promote ANOTHER AVP of Development and split the entire department...all due to Bova's sheer stupidity, incompetence and his own primate-like qualities.

To any students and staff at good Ole NU, DO NOT trust the likes of Paul Bova and Hilary Davis. They will smile in your face and stab you in the back at the first possible chance.  These people will be the death of their own school.

Bova's boss, is David Whaley...he's the VP of the school.  This oblivious bonehead doesn't even see that he's got idiots like Paul Bova and Hilary Davis driving people out of the department.  For example, about seven people resigned within the year I was there just because of the Peter Principle that put people like Paul Bova and Hilary Davis in their positions to begin with.

Not everyone at Norwich is bad.  The University President, CFO and the rest of the department are good, family people.  All-round good people.  It's the few bad people that make the rest of the school look bad.  And unfortunately, these few bad people have a lot of clout and influence on all the wrong levels.
