I was called by Scott Johnson and he walked me through the contract that he had faxed to me. He said I had to send 930.00 dollars to Pine falls Manitoba, Canada and put the name of Susan Caldwell on it as she is the one that is collecting the money. I then get a call from Daniel Burke who is supposely in customer service and he says that I cannot get the loan because I am a high risk. He then stated that I can get the loan if I send another 930.00 dollars or I can get a refund. I requested the refund and he then stated that It would be re deposited back in my account on January 9th. I then called back to Scott Johnson a couple of days later after I realized that something was wrong and he stated to me that they have been in business for quite some time and that he deals with hundreds of accounts and that I would get my refund. It is now January 9th and I have no refund. I even tried calling Scott Johnson and get no response. I even went to the web site and it can not be found.

Advance Fee Loan Scam

AUTHOR: Dave - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 09, 2007

Google "Advance Fee Loan" and you'll end up at the FTC.gov website.

"Don't pay for the promise of a loan. It's illegal for companies doing business by phone in the U.S. to promise you a loan and ask you to pay for it before they deliver. Requiring advance fees for loans also is illegal in Canada."

From the other report on North Alliance Lending, the website is shut down. The scammers have moved on to another "company" and website. File complaints with your local police, as well as ic3.gov online. It may be worth your while to file with RCMP in Canada. They may be able to do a reverse look-up of the phone number to get the location of the fraud.

Sending cash via Western Union or Moneygram is a sure bet. You will not see that money again. While warning your friends about Advance Fee Loan scams, also warn them away from Western Union. You have no recourse if you give cash away.
