Beware to anyone that is considering becoming a part of Numa Life Management Group (Numa Models, NIIMD)
This is the most crooked company I have ever encountered. They charge they models insane amounts of money for crap photo shoots, don't give the prints, comp cards or any other materials that are promised to their models. If they don't feel you are "up to their standards" (they can't make anything off you internationally) you get treated like garbage even though you have invested time and money in them.
NIIMD is their Makeup school.. to any aspiring make up artists..stay away. They practically rob their students of their money and they are not even an accredited institution. Having a diploma from NIIMD will mean nothing. In both their locations teachers have even quit for not getting paid. I have met so many other students, models and past employees of Numa all of which are as ripped off as I was. If you want to know more just read the many stories out there about employees, models and students that have all been equally ripped off.
The owner and his wife and sister will come off so amazing at first but just remember that
NUMA LIFE MANAGEMENT GROUP IS A COMPLETE JOKE/RIP OFF/SCAM! DO NOT GET FOOLED.
Most of the damage has been done in Calgary but now that they have opened in Edmonton it will be only a matter of time before they burn enough people there and hopefully close down for good.

I have worked with this company as a hairstyling student, I am a volunteer and am told that I will get pictures for my portfolio for my time. I have worked with this company 3 times now starting in November of 2011. I have never recieved any photos for shots I have worked on with them and never expect to. They seem to be very unorganized and am unsure what the models are being charged for if the makeup artists and stylists are not being paid..

I was a student of Numa's makeup school and I must say the experience of learning makeup was fantastic. I don't know what you have against Numa or how you even got there hating them in the first place, but the people who work there are very nice. I'm working with quite a few photo shoots now. As my experience grows, my hours also grows. Doing makeup for Numa has become almost a full time job for me and the pay is awesome. I'm gonna tell whoever reads this, based on experience you don't have to be pretty (that's what I'm for), you just need to show some respect, confidence, and willing to learn. Because in the end, its just all acting and posing.

I suppose one could say that I am a consumer of this company. I have taken a class there and have had a great experience. I have now visited both their Alberta locations. I have no complaints. I have had the opportunity to do makeup for a few photo shoots and have heard good things from their models. My experience has made me excited about more future opportunities with this group. I have done just a couple of jobs with them so far and have been paid.
I have not had the opportunity to meet with all the people mentioned. I have had a brief meeting with the owner and he was very kind to me they even picked me up lunch one time for staying not even that much later for a shoot. This does not sound like the company an anonymous people would describe.
Further more, I am hoping to improve my skills and see if there are other ways to be involved with them.ps, I heard that one instructor was paid above average and then was overpaid once too and they let her keep it anyways. I hope people go and see for themselves.
