They sent me an advertisement in the mail saysing that Marie Osmond lost 40 pounds because she used their program.

That is not true.

At the time, she was practicing 6 hours every day for the television show "Dancing with the Stars".

Marie Osmond has stated, on television, that this exercise is why she lost weight.

With that amount of exercise, she would have lost weight even without NutriSystem.

On the other hand, the NutriSystem diet might explain why she fainted in one episode of "Dancing with the Stars".

Response to Cat and Tom

AUTHOR: Css Hater - (U.S.A.)

Response to Cat of Hendersonville, Tennessee, U.S.A.

I agree that the company is not ripping off Ms. Osmond.

The company is ripping off any customer who pays the company in order to receive whatever caused Ms. Osmond to lose weight and does not receive dancing lessons.

The company is ripping off any custoemr who pays the company because the customer thinks that the company's product caused Ms. Osmond to lose weight.

You are correct that many other ads "lie to some extent". These may or may not be illegal, but they are all dishonest and should be reported here.

Response to Tom of Norristown, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

I should not try the program. I weigh less than 140 pounds. Your statement that "extra lbs" "have been hindering" my "personal success" is false.

If you "actually lost the weight" and you were "not currently working out" at the time that you "lost the weight", then YOU should do commercials for the company. Ms. Osmond should not. Your experience shows that a person who eats the food can lose weight without exercising. Her experience shows only that a person who eats the food while on a celebrity television show can lose weight.

Stephen,

Wow, Stephen, you need something better to do with your time. Maybe you should try the program and lose those extra lbs that have been hindering your personal success for your life time.

I myself lost 30 lbs on the program and struggled for years while working out to lose that weight, when I actually lost the weight I was not currently working out when I lost the weight. All I did was eat the food and follow the meal planner and I lost 14 lbs a month. The food tastes pretty good considering that it is diet food.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

her commercials.......

AUTHOR: Cat - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 07, 2008

First off I am do not watch Dancing with the Stars nor do I believe all these weight loss advertisements. What I am curious about is she does commericials for Nutra System, so I am wondering if this is a ripoff to you then how do you explain her commercials for them? She is PAID and paid well I might add for her so called "weightloss". She is not being forced to do these advertisements. Products have used people for all types of advertisements since the dawn of time. Just take a look at the car commericals from the 70's. Did that car drive better because a bikini clad woman actually advertised it? Of course not. It is called marketing. Somehow you are acting as if she was forced to have her picture and her weightloss on this card. There are hundreds of advertisement that lie to some extent. All there has to do is be a teeny tiny bit of truth in it. She lost weight. It is up to her to say how she did it. Just like these doctors who say they approve the message. Hey they are a Doctor , right? The fact they are a vet in small letters , most people miss! Come on, you have brains right? Use them!

Lastly, how is this a ripoff to you?
