At NY Resident Magazine, Bill Mason and his personal assistant, Christopher Pape, use the magazine to get at least $15,000 worth of free toys at Christmas time, under totally false pretenses.

Mr Pape will call many toy companies and tell them they are collecting toys for various reasons (school children, market research focus groups, etc). Those who choose to participate will send the toys to the school where Mr Mason's wife works, perpetuating and seemingly confirming the lie. They do not give the toys to school children or use them for market research, but keep everything themselves, particularly for Mr Mason's children. The toy companies get a little blurb in the magazine and believe they have donated to a good cause.

They are truly Christmas grinches.
