NYCPrivateRooms roomsinqueens Bait and Switch Tactics New York New York

I was helping my son locate housing in the Queens area. He had found a website titled "roomsinqueens" as well as "roomsinbrooklyn", etc. When he tried to explore the availabilities and locations of these rooms, he was directed to complete an online registration. When someone contacted him, he was then instructed to go to their Manhattan office to complete an application along with a $150 fee. He was then given a password to log on to their site. Rooms are advertised as $150 per week or $600 per month. Makes sense, right? When you finally explore the site, one learns very quickly that the rooms posted on their site are the much higher priced ones (as high as $1000 per month; very few are actually by the week) When I was looking, I found a room in the location that he was looking and I sent the information to my son. He contacted the leasor who said that he would never post an ad on "roomsinqueens" that it was actually on Craig's List. So this site NYCPrivateRooms may have some listings but they also go onto other websites, take those listings and post these rooms. It is a very misleading and deceptive. So do not use them.... They bait you with postings of beautiful rooms at $150 per week or $600 per month in the cities you are looking for but they don't actually exist.
