NYS Child Support System Big Ripoff Internet

  Same as reported by the other 3 reports, I've had a similar experience. I faithfully paid my child support in full for 8 years even though my ex has refused to work over this time. I moved out of state a few years ago and my now college age son decided to relocate here with me. There was a hearing over the phone in August and I was awarded custody of him backdated to the middle of May. I told the magistrate that she had received payments past the date that he determined I got legal custody of him, but to no avail. His response was that his juristiction would not collect child support in arrears. What a raquet!!! I was advised by the Support Collections Unit to contact him to get this arrears added to her account in the first place. Lokks likje the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing!!! Now if it were me in arrears, they would send their goon squad after me!I guess I have to kiss the almost $500 goodbye and let her get away with using this money to buy her bon bons and sit on her fat, misused $$$$ all day! The system in NY is bad and corrupt as stated by this and other complaints, but NY government will never change... someday it will sadly collapse...
