John Unruh agreed via e-mail to trade two rifles that he had advertised for sale plus 5 high capacity magazines for each rifle for 2 collectors quality handguns that I had. He complained about some minor blemishes on one of the two hand guns, but did not ask for any consideration for the blemishes and went ahead and shipped both rifles to me. When I queried him about the missing magazines he told me he had decided not to ship them. I complained and he said I would have to ship the new rifles back to him and then he would ship back my handguns.

I told him they were no longer new as I had already mounted scopes on them and sighted them in. He did not want the rifles back if they had been fired, but he still refused to send the magazines as he had agreed. He had every opportunity to return my handguns instead of sending me the rifles, but elected to keep them. Therefore he still owes me 10 magazines worth $30.00 per magazine for a total of $300.00. He could have canceled the trade if so chose, but he cannot unilaterally change the conditions that we had previously agreed to. I plan on pursuing this issue in small claims court in PA, but wanted to warn others about John Unruh's questionable practices.

I resided in South Carolina when this trade took place, but have since moved to Massachusetts.

False, inaccurate claim

AUTHOR: Oak Hill - ()

POSTED: Friday, April 12, 2013

This customer sent us a trade item he said was in mint condition.  Upon receiving the item we found it was not only heavily used, but in very poor condition.  We contacted the customer regarding the condition and offered to send thier item back as this was not the deal we agreed upon.  A month later customer contacted us and said just proceed with the trade deal and he would pay the difference due to the poor condition of the item blaming a 3rd party for it.  After we completed the transaction and shipped the product we got numerous malicious emails claiming fraud.

Then only fraud here is dishonesty on the part of the claimant.

I bought a new gun from Jon Unruh at Oak hill through gunsamerica. The listing # 959123444 - When my gun store got the gun it wasnot the gun i bought. There is a price diff. of about $500.00 . I bought a S&W 41 w/rail from S&W performance center. The gun that was shipped is the reg. S&W 41. I called Jon n he didnot even want to hear what i had to say. I try to tell Jon -just to look at the listing # but Jon said '' I dont have a pen'' I told Jon im sending the gun back to him. Jon said, i would have to pay the shipping. $35. I would also pay restocking fee of 3%. I would also have to pay a gunsmith to check the gun for any defect n make sure the gun wasnt fired. With shipping both ways $70 + 3% + one hour labor charge= $185.00.

The listing # from gunsamerica # 959123444 it still can be seen today !!

I have no problems with gunsamerica. They have been GREAT!!!  Its Oak Hill Enterprise-Jon Unruh...
