Oakwood Acceptance Corporation / Daphne Toliver deceptive, harrasing, extremely unprofessional company Greensboro North Carolina

I was a single mom who purchased a mobile home in 1993. In 2000 family illness caused some payments to be late. I was harrased night and day, day and night.

I was told from one collection rep that I could work 2 jobs if need be,one on a street corner, as long as I paid my payment as far as they were concerned.

A neighbor was there one day during these calls and when she got on the phone to ask them to please stop harrasing me,they told her to butt out!!!

I finally agreed to a voluntary surrender and was told that I was done with the home. I moved with a forwarding address/phone number and the home was sold to new owners. I drove by the home often and envied the new owners who bought my home after 7 1/2 years of pymts. I never heard from Oakwood again.

Today, on my mailbox is a note from my neighbor that a Ms. Toliver needs me to call her at 1-800-580-8615 ext 121. I called her already upset that my neighbor is giving me a msg from a creditor

Ms. Daphne Toliver would not even let me speak. She told me she was glad she finally found me, I had been in hiding and that the statues of limitations was 4 years to collect on this debt, she had one month to file a garnishment suit against me for $16,000.00 and was calling to inform me!!!!

She also stated I had been "running" for four years and she called my neighbor because I could not be found! This is all lies, I have heard NOTHING from Oakwood in four years, with this all behind me. My neighbor only met me when I moved here from the trailer, how could she contact her?

She would not let me speak, was rude, beligerent, unprofessional and told me she would garnish 100% of my wages and that I was a liar, they have sent me numerous letters. I swear I have not heard ONE WORD from Oakwood in all this time.

When I asked her if it was my turn to speak she said yes and when I started to speak she told me nothing I had to say was relevant, she was already filing the suit, she's tired of dealing with my kind and hung up!

I purchased the mobile home for $19,549.00, paid on it for 7 1/2 years, the new owners paid on it and she thinks I owe $16,000.00???

This is absolutely the WORST, MOST HORRIBLE, company I have ever dealt with!!!! I truly pray that they are put out of business soon.
