My husdand and I assumed a loan from Oakwood Acceptance Corp in 2001. It was on a single wide home approx. $24,995 retail, it was sitting in a mobile home park and had been vacant for about six months. We had just sold our five bedroom home and had to move quickly into something else is was early October and I was expecting our third child. Now the Mobile Home Center in this area was having a huge sale and that should have been the first clue.
We went, saw ,assumed a loan and was looking forward to the move. Second clue, two days before we move the mobile home center closed, shut down,and left town. We contacted our agent via cell phone, was told not to worry there was another location about 80 mile or so north of us if we had any problems, gave phone numbers and everything. Clue three, we recieve our payment book and the total of our payments is higher than we assumed the loan for.
Clue four call the phone numbers given for the center that just 80 miles north and guess what gone. No longer exist. Contact the Greensboro Corp. office to get some answers and gues what CLUE FIVE we are behind and didn't know it the total value of the assumption is double and for the last two years we have been threaten with eviction every other month. We Have had nothing but pure unadultrated hell from Oakwood Acceptance Corp. If ther is any way this company can be stopped , dear god be merciful and do so. They ruin your credit, harrassing you(even in your hospital bed), they threaten foreclosure with every breathe and are rude and uncompassinate. The old saying that goes NEVER ASSUME BECUSE IT MAKES AN a*s OUT OF U AND ME. Well we assumed with Oakwood and they are truly trying to make us the a*s in this.

BUT WE ALSO DEAL WITH ALOT OF RUDE UNCOOPERTIVE MEAN PEOPLE THAT THINK WE OWN THEM WHEN THEY ARE 2 AND 3 MONTHS BEHIND,PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE TO GET SOMEONE TO PAY FOR THE ROOF OVER THERE HEADS INSTEAD WE GET EXCUSES AND LIED TO ALL DAY VERY FEW ARE REALLY TRYING AN THOSE ARE THE ONE'S WE HELP, MANY RATHER DRINK, BUY NEW CARS OR DO SOMTHING ELSE WITH THERE MONEY THEN PAY FOR THERE HOME, SO IF YOUR NOT SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW WHAT YOUR PRIORITES ARE DON'T BLAME US,
WE HAVE TO BE CALLED ALL KINDS IF CRUDE NAMES, HUNG UP ON AND ABUSED BY MOST ALL OF THE ACCOUNTS THAT ARE BEHIND, THOSE THAT ARE NOT MY RESPECT GOES OUT TO YOU AND IF YOU FALL INTO HARD TIMES
AND ARE A DECENT PERSON I WILL HELP ANYONE KEEP THERE HOME, IT IS SAID FROM THE INSIDE.
