My fiance was looking on line for a small personal loan, when oakwood lending pop up, we were then contacted by them, and said if we came up with 6 months of payments for the total of $700.00 he would recieve $5000.00 in his account the following day, we took my entire paycheck to moneygram the $700.00 to Canada, the following day we recieved a call from oakwood stating we needed to send an additonal $700.00 to secure the loan, in the mean time we lost our home and car because I used all my paycheck for the first $700.00 when we told them to refund they said we have to wait till the next billing cycle which will be 06-13-08, my fiance has been calling to make sure this is going to happen as we are already so far in the whole because of the loan falling through in the first place, today he spoke with someone and they said that everything is on track for the 13th however this evening we called again to double check and all we are getting is goodbye, I thought I did my part originally when I looked up BBB before I sent them the money, all there loan documents looked professional, and all the info on the BBB matched what they sent to us. Once again I believe we were taken like the rest of you. I want them to pay back everyone that they have stole from. If anyone has any information please share. I have contacted an attorney as well as the attorney general and also placing a fraud complaint.

You didn't really send the money did you???

This is one of the oldest scams in the book. Other than the fact that you NEVER send any money in advance for a loan. Didn't you find it strange that they wanted the money wired to Canada when they are located in Miami?
If you have not already realized it you are NEVER going to see the money you sent again. And at least you wised up before you sent them another $700. As you have found out they eventually they disappear and have moved on to a new location. The only reason they said it would take until the 13th is because they wanted you to stop calling so they can get away.
