I was disturbed to find outrageous OAN/ACI/Teleseven,LLC charges for what appeared to be a directory assistance inquiry for a a Las Vegas phone number on our latest phone bill. We have no family, friends, or business contacts in Nevada, and I knew the call had been billed in error. Also, we never use the 555-1212 method of directory assistance. I use the www when I need a number that I can't find in the book.
The charges for ONE call to 702-555-1212 directory assistance totaled $6.58! The charges were broken down as follows:
Toll calls: $4.33, Miscellaneous charges and credits (USF Carrier Admin Fee): $1.65, Federal Tax: .18, State Tax: .42
I called our local provider, whose bill the charges appeared on, and they informed me that they would remove the charges from my bill, but that I would need to contact OAN.
I contacted OAN and they said that the number only "appeared" to be a inquiry for a Las Vegas phone number. They said that all directory assistance charges were routed to a Las Vegas number--hence the 702 prefix. Sounded somewhat fishy to me at the time, but after coming across the other, similar, ripoff reports I can see a pattern emerging.
We will not be paying that portion of our bill.

Be on your guard against this type of OAN/ACI/LLC scam. The related ripoff reports I read have all occurred in the past two to three months.
The company seems to operate under several titles: OAN Services, ACI Billing Services, Billing Services Group,LLC.
I am not sure of their connection with Teleseven, LLC.
