Today on November 27, 2010 arouond 9:49 a.m., Ronnie Mclairne called my house phone and assured me that the call was not a telemarketing call, but after hanging up and calling the number back, the automated operator stated: "Thank you for calling Telemarketing Services." Ronnie was telling me that I would only have to pay $2 for the information package. After reading Ronnie my 16 digit card number like an idiot, I then lied to him about my actual card number and gave him a fake 16 digit number in fear of a scam. He then put me on hold to verify my information and I quickly hung up the phone. He called back a few times and I kept picking up the phone just to hang it right back up. I then checked my bank account online and it showed $1 taken out of my checking account for this same day. I then decided to file a report about it out of instinct after researching a complaint online about Oasis Travel Scams, while still on the phone with Ronnie! It was a lady stating that she'd won a trip to Disney World or Land after receiving a call and that she was charged over $300 in taxes! I'm not sure when to expect the package or the gas card or if I'll even receive it, but I do know that a dollar was taken out of my account and now that they have my card information I am afraid that more will be taken out without my authorization. If this is truly a scam, I would like for them to be stopped before anymore damage can be done, or anyone else becomes a victim.
