Ocean Group LLC is an ad agency located in New York City. It was started by John Short and Bruce Kravetz. Bruce and I were good friends. When I had a lead for him or could push some business his way, I was happy to. We worked together a number of times. In 2004, John Short, never one to ignore a girl 20+ years younger than him, or a mirror for that matter, fired Bruce. He then told me that, in effect, I was to work with him to grow the company.

I brought in a number of new clients, increasing billing and associated fees by at least $200K. In 2005, John began to fall behind regarding paying my invoices. He promised to pay me but the debt got higher and higher. And, in Sept. 2005 John stopped paying me altogether. To this day, the debt is outstanding and grows monthly.

Do not do work for or with this man. He has reportedly run up significant bills all over New York. Former employees, editors, printers, former partners--you name it. He allegedly owes all of us money. Maybe if John stopped buying $2,000 suits, stopped living in a $7,000 per month apartment, stopped taking his mistress to $500 per night dinners and did not buy her a $40,000 necklace, years ago, he would have the money today to pay off his debts. But his ego and greed has hurt us all. John also owns a company called Downtown Consultants, and he reportedly billed Ocean Group for "consulting fees" on a regular basis, which were really personal expenses. As we all know, this is tax evasion and fraud.
