In October, 2009 - I used Ocean Star International - after numerous promises of professionalism by one John Duart base in Florida. Everything went wrong from the day the packers arrived.

They did "not" pack. The listing of items were listed in so hap-hazard a manner - that I began to become concerned. Specific items had to be inspected and listed as such but were scantly noted. I brought emphasis to specific items - 2 iMac Computers (one Brand New) both securely contained in double packed containers - along with proprietary Software.

I also listed and I pointed out my vast camera/video collection, other electronics and Designer Scissors - which in themselves were valued at about $25,000 alone ...

I was told/assured that all my goods would be packed securely in a sturdy crate as professionalism and customer service and satisfaction was their prime concern. John Duart went on to name a few shipping companies that I should avoid at all cost. Another assurance - well ruse on his part.

My shipment arrived at my doorstep on February 2010 - in absolute disarray - for nothing was contained within any secure container, per s but loosely wrapped in large plastic sheets on a flat-bed truck - ala Biddulphs - a World-Wide renowned shipper. Several sturdy boxes had been roughly ripped open with large spaces of emptiness. I have photos depicting this arrival and evidence of ripped open boxes.

Checking the shipment (what was left of it) along with Tag Numbers - many discrepancies ensued for many of these Tags were on different boxes to those originally placed - therefore not corresponding with the original carrier's numbers. My 24" iMac'sTag was affixed to a shoe-box.

What was obvious, was the absence of my two computers, DVD Recorder. I made a several inspections as I unpacked my shipment and informed Biddulphs and Ocean Star of the loss and damage of items.

Although I filed a complete - detailed Claim to Ocean Star - they came up with so many pathetic excuses that I knew I had been had. Although I claimed for just under $20,000 - they ultimately paid out $4,000 - less than I had paid for my shipping alone.

Upon returning to Washington, DC - I looked up Ocean Star International and read some rather bizarre complaints from many who had been taken by this total disingenuous shipping company - not to be trusted on any account.

What puzzles me is that they still remain in business - after their long nefarious history of taking trusting customers for a ride ...
