In the month of march of 01 we made our first house payment to Ocwen FSB. As we received notice from our last cheating mortage company we were glad to be rid of them. They had sold us to Ocwen who is so much worse.
My husband is 74 years old, and dealing with their scheming ways in which the more they say he owes the more he pays. He is unable to read fine print and all he did was write out the checks and mail it, this has gone on from 2001-present. Our savings is completely gone and he's paid thousands of dollars that they have charged in lage fees. When we receive our returned checks it showed that Ocwen was not cashing the checks until two weeks later.
In the process they would add late charges and bounced check fees every month. Included to the late charges they had also added on "Forced house insurance" at a cost of $1,776.50 per year. I have sent them numerous copies of our proof of insurance and all they say is they never received it. So I decided to send the last copies certified mail return receipt requested, I got the receipt back and they're still insisting they never received the documents. I feel that in retaliation for figuring out that we were being ripped off they have raised our mortgage from $1,592 to $1,715.
So now we have gotten rid of our checking account and have been making payments using money orders. The payments are no longer late but now Ocwen has put the $1,592 into a suspense account because it's not enough to cover the new mortgage amount. They are now charging late fees again. I am unable to reach a customer service rep and when I do they leave on hold long enough to irritate me then just hang up. I end up with the message "if you'd like to make a call please hang up and redial".
We have received a letter of foreclosure from Ocwen, and we are now being forced to refinance or lose our home that's been in our family for over fifty years.

Now thats a long loan. Obviously for a lifetime rather than the usual 20-30 years.

Class Action Lawsuit

I know of at least one California Class Action Lawsuit that is pending. Well, it was originated in California anyway but is now being litigated part under MDL's jurisdiction.
From what I have read lately regarding similar class action cases, I wouldn't be in so much of a rush to join up, although I guess you can always op-out. My point is: if you have been defrauded out of tens, or hundreds of thousands of dollars is a mere $500 - $2,000 return going to make much of a difference? Especially when no crimminal charges are filed.
That's the dollar level of per plaintif returns that I have been seeing lately. If anyone has more or better information on the subject of class action lawsuits please post.
Good Luck!

I see you live in California, I live in Yorba Linda, CA and have filed my own rip-off report. I am trying to find anyone in California that knows if there is a class action suit against Ocwen in California? Ocwen has gone too far and needs to be stopped.
