I have been doing oil changes with Oil Can Henry for couple of years because I trusted and price seems affordable. And it was on 7/3/13 that unusually I went to TV Hwy location in Hillsboro for the oil changes (as Tanasbourne location is the one normally I go to for oil changes.) Since there is a little leakage issue with power steering fluid, I told Joe, the Assistant Manager to please check the same fluid but said all the fluids are full except oil. He also mentioned that power steering fluid leakage could be due to tire worn out and mentioned also other reason which I forgot now. After the oil change was done I still found my power steering wheels very stiff when move around while driving. But next day on 7/4/13 as it happened to be an Independence Day celebration I want to inspect the power steering fluid before driving as my family had a plan to go somewhere else. To my great surprise and shock I found the power steering fluid totally empty which I couldn’t believe myself. My 2007 Honda Accord SE was parked at the front yard when I did the visual inspection and my daughter was also the evidence of witness of this very deceptive and fraudulent service done by Oil Can Henry. Even because of leakage issue of power steering fluid but at least there should be some kind of little trace of fluid left behind at the bottom. I asked my daughter to take a video while I was dipping a tip of white plastic knife at the very bottom and found totally empty which I did like that several times. I also took the video myself if in case, we need some valid evidences later besides our visual evidence.  I went there again on 7/6/13 to the location where the oil change was done and talked both to Joe who did the oil change and also Tim, the Manager. But Tim was found to be very defensive even after shown him a video as my trust had been betrayed was even blaming me instead of accepting the wrong doings by his employees. On that same day, finally I filled up the Customer Action Request form and I got the yellow copy for my information. All that I was trying to do was to get the money back of $24.99 I paid for the oil change after the discount. I called (503) 848-7899 and talked to Mike, Tech on 7/19/13 to do follow up with the form filled up, and he asked me to contact Corporate Office. I called Corporate Office at (503) 783-3888 on 8/2/13 and talked to Laura Mooney, the Customer Service Manager who asked me my contact phone number so that Abarca, Hoover, Supervisor can call me back and at the time, I also left a voice message for Hoover. And on same day he called and asked me to see him on 8/3/13 at Tanasbourne Oil Can Henry location at 9:00 a.m. but I didn’t see him when I went there and Austin, Manager gave me an excuse for Hoover not showing up saying he had to go for the meeting. And Austin said finally Hoover will process the check for $24.99 on 8/5/13, Monday which again I trusted and kept waiting for the check to be arrived by mail but in vain.                I again called Tanasbourne location at (503) 617-9755 and talked to John both on 8/28/13 and 8/29/13 and even talked to Austin again on 8/30/13 for the fraudulent activities and victimizing the customer in one way or the other as I lost my trust with those guys. I had to, once again leave a voice message for Laura Mooney on 8/31/13. I finally got the letter from Oil Can Henry Corporate Office in Tualatin, on 9/4/3/113 which the date of letter 9/3/13 says the review of the video for the oil change performed on 7/3/13 was done according to the proper procedures. The letter was signed by Laura Mooney, the Customer Relationship Manager who denied my claim of wrong doing, deception, fraudulent services. As you can see from the above facts starting from the oil change done on 7/3/13 until the resolution of the issue after filling up the customer action request form what you find is only full of liar, deception, excuses only victimize the customer. This is based upon my personal observation based upon evidence of facts, I can now make the judgment that Oil Can Henry should not be trusted as I had trusted before until finally I had to pay the price, not simply in term of losing my money back of $24.99 but rather my real trust of hoping to do the good job had been shattered. I have indeed any intention to bring this issue to the attention of customers but I was forced to, under the above circumstances to expose the underlying the techniques of deception and fraudulent when it comes to oil changes. Therefore every customer is advised to check whether or not, Oil Can Henry has properly done the oil changes. I didn’t really check in the past because I whole heartedly trust but it opened my eye on 7/4/13 after having done with my oil change on 7/3/13 which power steering fluid was found totally empty and there wasn’t even a slightest trace left behind at the bottom. It should not be like that even if there is a leakage issue, as it never happened before. I wish to present a video of evidence here but could not do so but I will definitely post that video in YouTube very soon and when you see that video you will be surprised and shocked to see that Oil Can Henry didn’t actually filled up my power steering fluid at all. Finally be aware of the fraudulent services being done by Oil Can Henry to me and you could be the next and please make sure you do the visual inspection whether it filled all the fluids or not, because it betrayed my trust and be very careful when doing changes with that company. That’s it!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Oil Can Henry's employees are pressured to sell unwanted services

AUTHOR: Michael Hetherington - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 30, 2013

All Oil Can Henry's have camera's and a recording system in their centers. As a former 11 year, Area Supervisor, ask them to show you the video and it will conclusively show you wether they did indeed top-up your Power Steering Fluid or not.
