I purchased a Sandisk Ultra II 4GB CF card in June 2006 on eBay from Model-8 (excellent reviews). I received the part and realized weeks later that it was very slow at saving photos in my camera. Thinking I had a camera problem (with 4GB) I sent it in for analysis. Several hundred dollars later I receive it back with all the latest upgrades, but no change in the speed of the 4GB card. Detail testing of the flash card by itself showed that this part took over 5x as long to save a photo as the 1GB "real" part. A subsequent call to Sandisk revealed that this part was not one of theirs, even though it looked identical to my 1GB part. Neither Model-8 or Okivision ever confirmed or denied that they were dealing in pirated parts, but they did refund my purchase money (and removed the transaction from eBay).
