Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. og&e collected someone elses bill with extortion or have no electricy Oklahoma City Oklahoma

I have lived at my current address for a year and 3 months. During this time I have paid my electric bill on time. Last Friday I received a 48 hour cut off notice. Not understanding how on earth this could happen, I contacted OG& E and was informed the bill was for a past roomate.
Though I explained I was the only person on my lease and the electric service in my name had always been paid promptly, they said unless I could provide them with my friends current address or pay the bill in full my electricity would be cut off.
I said " How can you bill me for someone else's services?" I was told that the person owing the bill contacted them and gave them my address. ( which is ludicrous)
Even so, It is not my bill! After 3 days of suffering insulting and hateful treatment, I contacted an attorney that explained they were in violation of the Fair Collection Act and suggested I contact a local news channel to expose them.
This wasn't a small bill. It was $356.00 and I was told they would cut off my electricity regardless of what my attorney said. I was also told unless I could produce my ex roomates address or pay it , I would be without electricity.
My mother called and was told this was common practice because og& e was losing too much money from kids not paying their bills.
Well I have always paid mine . The bill WAS paid to continue service but I will pursue this matter further with the state commission office and with an attorney. I will also contact a local tv station and expose this practice to help other victims since " OG&E IS THE ONLY ELCTRIC CO. IN OKC" Quite a monopoly ...don't you think?
I asked there representative why shouldn't I just not pay my bill and have it sent to her stating I lived there.
Frustrated in Oklahoma City but not beaten. I will fight for my rights!
