Old Country Buffet Sexual Harassment and Poorly Trained Staff Fairfax, Woodbridge, Alexandira Virginia

Beware of this restaurant. There are a number of reasons why one should never go to the OCB. In addition to the poor quality of food and health violations (just google OCB online - you will that there are many), many OCB franchises are closing all over the nation. The company is poorly run. In addition, the managament is extremely dishonest, unethical, and lacking in integrity.

Numerous sexual harassment complaints have been filed against the management and staff of this restaurant. If you dare ask management to intervene to stop the harassment by their staff, they will decline to serve you as opposed to address the problem.

In addition, the management here will lie. In order to cover their assess and avoid multi-million dollar litigation and losing the franchise altogether, the managers will work in concert with the police to discredit patrons who challenge their illegal activities.

They will do everything to frame and discredit the woman and attempt to destroy her to deflect attention and culpability from their own conduct. Somehow, a woman's calm request to OCB management of: "please don't touch me and comment on my body" is translated into (by management) as: "She screamed rape and caused a public situation" when no such situation actually occurred.

Perhaps OCB is paying police to lie and file false charges to discredit patrons on their behalf. How much money would they contribute to bribe police to lie for them than they would lose in business due to a PR nightmare and litigation over the conduct of their staff.

Instead of altering their conduct, they will immediately go on the offensive and try to discredit and woman through lies in concert with the Fairfax County police, who act as though they are above the law.

OCB is run by very low class, unaccomplished, frustrated, bitter men who resent the success, accomplishment, and genuine happiness of others and try to take their frustrations out on women, whom they perceivce as vulnerable in some way. Tell them no and they keep at it. Even worse, this atittude and pattern is chronic at OCB and supported, condoned, and covered up by their corporate office and exists throughout the franchises. Inappropriate conduct is Standard Operative Producure among the OCB franchises. This restaurant takes no responsibility for its actions and instead of doing the right thing, points fingers at others to hide its own guilt.

Even though you might think you get good value for money here, you are looking at:

1) Substandard, unhygenic food

2.) Socially maladapted staff/management who sexually harass female patrons and then retaliate, with the support of corporate and Fairfax County Police, if they are asked to stop.

3.) OCB staff act as a gang, target patrons they don't like or who call them on their unethical behavior, and will go through purses, personal belongings, and lie about patrons in order to cover up their own misdeeds.

4.) OCB staff will use police, who willingly, file false charges against patrons as an offensive against true allegations about staff misconduct. In other words, they retaliate against whistleblowers --whether commenting about unhygenic food/work conditions, unethical/illegal behavior, or the fact that staff steals from the till. (Yes, I have seen cashiers allow friends to come in and eat free or at a discount-- and give senior discounts to teenage friends.)

OCB needs to be investigated as does Fairfax County Police which participates in this fraud, deception on the American taxpayer, the State of Virginia, and honest patrons.

OCB has absolutely nothing to recommend it. It attracts the worst elements of socieety, engages in seedy conduct and dining habits and is run by sick, small minded, and rather incompetent individuals who have no integrity.

I thought this was America not India -- where women are stoned and burned at the stake for asserting their rights and voices.

The male staff at these restaurants harass women relentlessly and take numerous liberties. You either play ball or are thrown out. If you complain about it, they deny doing it and you get thrown out of the restaurant. Or you endure, get followed around the restaurant, groped, harassed, and otherwise subjected to sexist comments by their staff. They also join in with male patrons who like to target women in this way and then deny when called on it. When women have enough and instruct them to STOP, they are removed from the restaurant. This is a real comment from a manager: "Since we can't provide an environment in which you feel you can eat without being harassed and groped, we need to ask you to leave." Never mind that their own staff and managers were doing the harassing and groping.

The men who run this establishment seem to have inferiority complexes and try to establish a sense of superiority by making passes at female patrons, treating women as though they exist for their pleasure and to be toyed with. The moment they are called on thier activity, they go into denial and claim the woman imagined it. "What? I never touched you? That wasn't my hand. Must have been someone else's." The male staff and managers back each other up and then continue the assault, getting away with it without repercussion.

They are dishonest and predatory.

Same patterns of sexism can be found in restaurants across the nation and seems far more pronounced than in other franchises. It's truly a disgrace.

You stated that the patrons are mostly elderly people. Are you saying that elderly women are sexually harrassed by managers?

Can you reference any lawsuits or police reports regarding inappropriate actions by these managers.
