I hired a local company to train my dog and was impressed by the evaluation the owner of the company gave. Assigned to my dog was a dog trainer by the name of Frank Adams, which was present at the evaluation. At our first session, I noticed that the training was very unorganized and there was no real plan or direction for fixing or training my dog. The only thing that Mr. Adams did, was continually correct my dog, using a very heavy knee, which I was not too happy about. During that session, we were outside and my dog was on leash at which time a neighbors dog was coming down the street, which caused my dog to start trying to get to the neighbors dog. My dog was pulling me to the point, I almost lost control and was also wrapping me in the leash. During this episode, Mr. Adams just sat there and did nothing, whicle I was struggling to gain control of my dog. He didn't even offer to help.

The 2nd session was to be the next week at which time Frank called me and told me he wasn't going to be able to make it because his child was sick and he had to stay home with him. I can completely understand this, so I didn't have a problem with it. We had planned on training the following week in which Frank did show up. But it wouldn't have mattered if Frank showed up or not, because all he did was sit and talk about sports and did roughly 8 minutes of training the entire time he was there.

The third session was scheduled for the following week, in which Frank called me the day of and told me he couldn't make it because another family member was sick. I am unable to remember if it was his other child or his wife, but either way, he couldn't make it because someone else was sick. So we had planned on resuming training the following week.

After this episode, I got to thinking. I signed up for 10 sessions and began to think that this was going to take forever, but I had already paid, so I went along with it.

Finally ... after getting through session 5, Frank told me that there was nothing else he could do for me, that I would have to contact the owner of the training company. But before Frank left, he asked me if I would make a positive comment on his new website to help him out. It took everything I had, to keep from laughing!

After 5 sessions with Frank, my dog had shown zero improvement and now Frank was quitting on me. I was at a loss for words.

The following week, I did contact the owner of the dog training company, in which Frank was working for and explained everything to him. I don't want to mention the name of the company, because I don't want to give the owner or his company a bad name, because he really took care of me, after explaining what happened. He explained that Frank was no longer with them and that Frank decided to seek employment elsewhere and he apologized for the inconvenience and the fact I was caught up in this mess and promised to make things right.

Jason, the owner of this dog training company told me that he wouldn't be able to get me on his schedule for the current week due to his schedule being full, but he would get me started the following week. As scheduled, Jason showed up and we were able to accomplish more in that one hour of training, than all 5 sessions with Frank and we are back on track!

I am in no way attempting to damage Frank, because I did think he was a nice guy, but I seriously believe he is unqualified for dog training and he needs to be honest with his customers and himself. He did tell me in the beginning that he had trained at Petsmart but was not training that way, which is what I didn't want. I believe that Petsmart was the only training that Frank has received. I could be wrong, but that is all he mentioned in the beginning. Jason had told me that his trainers were all trained to train dogs his way, but I don't believe Frank was using that training, because when Jason arrived, it was completely different from the way Frank was "training" my dog and I and there was immediate results.
