This posting is to ensure that all models are aware that the modeling site, onemodelplace.com, is a scam.
First of all, if you do further research into the "casting" aspect of the site you will realize that a large percentage of the castings posted are fake. Little is done to monitor the casting section by onemodelplace. I have heard several horror stories from models, telling me that castings they went on ended up being an excort service/porn type jobs. Onemodelplace does not have proper security measures set up to protect the users. It is truly scary! Do not trust them with your personal information.
I was affiliated with this company until I was no longer happy with how they mislead the users, and quit. They tell the models that the site is well monitored for predators, but in reality, it is not. I am concerned about the safety of the users who spend hard earned money on this site.
Secondly, for all your information, the "bronze, silver, gold" type profile setup is another reasoning you should not join this site. You spend so much money in order to be able to upgrade and the benefits are pitiful. Getting jobs through this site is rare at best, all you can really hope for is some TFP work.
Onemodelplace also posts fake testimonials of models landing jobs in order to give the illusion that you can make it big through the site.
Be aware of this, do not join, you will lose your hard earned money. I am concerned with your safety!

complete lies??

the person writing the report is making up false info...the model didnt initially call in, the photographer did to have pictures removed of the model on her page..why people from this company are making up things is shocking and for what reason..the model after her profile was taken down called omp and claimed the photographer was a predator who scrwed her over-- the admin then said that that could be used as 'defamation of character' in court....to make the model appear as the aggressor is both pathetic and untrue...the model's profile was wrongly removed as claiming 'multiple problems' while a photographer is allowed to get away with whatever he wants...this is an awful company and continues to prove the terrible things they do to innocent people...these people are not only unethical unfair, but aggressors and bullies towards those who are victims of their own bad practices...beware again...

Bottom line - this appears to be a case of a model who was trying to get back at the photographer (who she states she dated - see above RipOffReport).
Now that she didn't get the outcome that she wanted, she complains about our company, who actually tried to help her, but didn't give her the outcome she wanted.
We did speak to the model. She was in violation of a photographers copyright (was using photos he took without rights/permission). We do respect photographers copyright, as well as models' rights in regards to controlling their likeness (which is why we always suggest the negotiation of model releases and rights assignments). So at this point neither the photographer or model may use the images.
We follow the law in these situations, and the model was unhappy that we made her remove the images from her portfolio. The model was also unhappy with the photographer, because she stated that she hadnt received a CD of the full-size images. We dont know if that was part of their agreement of not, as we are a website for networking and starting the conversations we dont get involved in anyones actual shoots.
We attempted to help mediate the situation between the model and photographer, but neither would budge from their position. We did end up removing the models portfolio for acting immaturely by continuing to break our community rules (posting defamatory information about the photographer on her portfolio). The photographer acted professionally throughout the whole exchange, but had he acted differently or broken our rules during the exchange, he would have been removed as well.
We never refused a phone call from the model. She told us she wanted her mother to call us which we told her would be inappropriate as the model was in her 20s and the mother had no legal standing in the issue. Despite our telling her this, she had her mother call anyways, to which we had to tell her we could not talk to her regarding the matter, as she didnt have any standing in the legality of the issue.
We advised the model in the best ways to handle the situation, but instead she attempted to defame the photographer (which was inappropriate in this case), and later attempted to defame our company on several sites because she didnt get her way.
---------------------------------------------------
At OneModelPlace, we have our staff members listed publicly, with direct contact information and phone numbers for any assistance required.
We have US-Based customer service run by people who have been in the photography and modeling businesses for many years.
We DO actively remove portfolios, but the ones we remove are those of the scammers, predators, escorts, etc. And those who actively abuse the community and rules of the site.
We DO run a tight ship, and when someone abuses the system, we remove them from the site.
The statement that we "refuse calls from scared models" is patently false - our number is publicly available, and we have numerous mechanisms on our site for reporting scams, shams and inappropriate behavior.
As always, we don't expect you to take our word for it here - models can try our service for free, and find out for themselves.

you must be kidding me here...you challenge all assertions...most of what is stated in that rebuttal isn't the truth evidently. Omp told the model that they would possibly put the website back up if she waits a week. The model also had absolutely no problem with taking the pictures down-- the pictures were taken down far before she was even contacted by OMP administrators, because she noticed they were on her page. Omp chose to take her page down without warning, remove all of her hard work for no good reason...because of a "photographer" who had contacted them, who is a predator. OMP even went so far as to telling the model they would put her page back up (possibly) and they would contemplate on it...a week later, the model's parent called OMP to ask them what had happened. They claimed she was supposed to call them...when called back they claimed to the model that they asked if there was a good reason they should keep the page up-- since they couldn't think of one they decided to keep it down- this is how they make their unfair decisions towards people's modeling careers and careers in general. They had no reason taking the page down- worse they seemed to want to fight the model for no reason who had already been a victim of a bad photographer. When the model called and told the OMP admin that the man was a predator, she was told by the admin that they could use that in court as 'defamation of character"...defamation of character for a model calling a photographer a 'predator'--this is atrocious. A company that claims to scan for predators, is tellign a scared model that calling a photographer a predator is 'defamation of character." these are very nasty people- the ones who run this place, not only shady but apparently not telling the truth and who will say and do anything to defend their unfair actions towards members of the website. The admin also kept asking the model why she had dated the photographer in the first place-- why is that any of their business in the first place? This business is full of shady, unethical 'males' and people who like to treat women a certain way, put them down, feel they have power over them, insult them and people on powertrips- this seemed to be the situation here and a very unfair and mean one...they basically interrogated, halfway insulted the person, talked rudely to her, and people who called for her, were very rude and mean overall...bullies, then decided to remove her page permanently...for no good reasons while defending a predatory photographer...this is a company that claims to scan for predators..yeah right...the people on top of this place are a joke...they are not very good people and people should be warned about their profiles- that they are not secure because the place isn't run fairly or ethically, even worse, they are on this board making up false stories and not telling the complete truth.. as well to defend their bad actions....OMP seems to have major issues with scared models who call in who are victims of bad photographers...not only treating them unfairly, being rude to them, removing their profile without warning, giving lame erroneous reasons as to why it was removed, then not telling the truth about the situation...shame on the company...shame all the way...awful place to call themselves those who are out to help those in the industry...they only want to bring people down it seems...

the people that run OMP- are awful, and they take advantage of and will ruin people's pages for no reason or remove people's profiles for no reason or false reasons. They are on powertrips and are jerks and predators...they will remove people's hard work in minutes and could care less about what they do to people. They have unfair and unethical practices and run the place like a dictatorship not like a professional website and they are not professional at all but just unethical immoral and corrupt... They try so hard to get business, but will destroy people's modeling portfolios at their own discretion and choose to do so.....they allow predators, prostitutes and all sorts of sick perverts to run amuck, do waht they want, they refuse to acknowledge phone calls from scared models who have been abused by certain photographers, but they will remove model's profiles for no reason and people who are legitimate and good models and people. They are cold and rude and mean to people....they are not ethical and have unfair practices....this is just a really bad website and place....and the people who run it are really bad people....on a powertrip mostly so they can feel powerful while they have arbitrary and unfair practices and extreme favoritism towards males or male photographers....I'm sure there is plenty more that people don't even know about but these people tamper with innocent people's lives and careers and could care less about the sick things they do to others....the administrators are on major powertrips and I think are just out to ruin people if they get the chance to do so....they are so corrupt crude mean and rude to people who have even been with their website for years---they are abusive unfair unethicalbeware of these people.and the jerks running it.

False claim by OMP
AUTHOR: Ken1969 - (U.S.A.)

As quoted by BOB (Employee from OMP):
"OneModelPlace is the ONLY modeling site that actively scours and monitors our databases for preditory behaviour, and removes members on an almost daily basis for attempted scams, shams, and illicit activity. We recieve emails on a daily basis from models thanking us for taking an active part in helping them avoid scams. But don't take the word of this posting for it; call our offices, and we will be happy to tell you directly the many ways in which we keep the site as free as possible from predators."
This statement is false as AllModelZone.com is the leading site that not only actively monitors the site for such behavior, but PUBLICLY ANNOUNCES IT for all members to see as well as work in conjuction with Law Enforcemen official to track down and apprehend such offenders.

Fiona is not an ex-employee... just another person removed for breaking the rules...
AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

"Fiona" is not an ex-employee, just a bitter ex-user who could not follow the rules we have on the site to keep models and photographers safe from scammers, shammers, and those who would use the internet (and internet modeling sites) to take advantage of others.
You can clearly see that she isn't an ex-employee as she posted a different "complaint" here:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/309/RipOff0309570.htm
claiming the original creator of the site (Mr. Burden) tried to coerce her on a date...
Mr. Burden deals with business and technical matters for the company, and doesn't communicate directly with subscribers. This would be akin to someone who uses an iPod calling Apple and talking to Steve Jobs for a service issue...
Any complaint or question would be handled by our customer service department, and would never be handled by Stuart directly (in fact, even if someone emailed Mr. Burden directly, he would simply pass it on to customer service)
Nice try "Fiona" - you attempted to scam the users of our site, now you try to scam the public with this ripoff report. But the 200,000+ users of OneModelPlace know better, and so do you.

Completely Untrue - We stand by our good reputation - but please, read on....
AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

OneModelPlace is a Model/Photographer/Industry Portofolio Hosting site with 12 years in the business, and an excellent reputation with the Better Business Bureau, as well as the 200,000+ individuals and Companies which use our services.
While the quality of the castings posted to the site will vary greatly, this can be said of ANY resource, including any model hosting site. The castings are posted by our individual members, not by OneModelPlace. And while many smaller castings may seem of little value to an experienced model, that same castings may be perfect for a beginner model, or someone who is in the beginning of their carrer.
Castings on OMP range from individual photoshoots (paid and TFP), through an entire spectrum of the industry all the way to high-profile campaigns with Advertising Campaigns, Major Film studios, and Television Productions.
OMP is only the conduit for these castings, and has no actual involvement in the castings themselves (unless it is a special project specifially for OMP) - Site members should NEVER take a casting at face value on OMP or ANY site, ad, etc. Each individual is responsible to do their own research to see the validity and value of any job offer.
------
This person was never affiliated with OneModelPlace. We have never had a staff member or moderator by the name of Michelle, and never had anyone who lived in Canada working with the company in any way, even as a moderator on our forums. - The fact that they are making up an affiliation with OMP should tell you right away that these accusations are bunk.
------
OneModelPlace is the ONLY modeling site that actively scours and monitors our databases for preditory behaviour, and removes members on an almost daily basis for attempted scams, shams, and illicit activity. We recieve emails on a daily basis from models thanking us for taking an active part in helping them avoid scams. But don't take the word of this posting for it; call our offices, and we will be happy to tell you directly the many ways in which we keep the site as free as possible from predators.
------
Our Membership levels are extremely reasonable (our MOST expensive account is $250/yr), and for models, Free accounts have always been available.
In most cases, a single good assignment found by networking on OMP can more than pay for the cost of any subscription level.
Having a membership-based site allows us to keep the amount of advertising on the site to a minimum; while still allowing us to serve our members, both by having more tools than any other modeling site, and by allowing us to innovate and create new feature on a regular basis for our members.
So Far from being a scam, we are a business that has been in operation for a decade.
---------
Every testimonial on our site is true, and unsolicited. You don't have to believe me, ask any of the people who give those tesimonials, their names and portfolio info is listed on each testimonial.
------
The Truth here is that this is not a former employee of OMP; with the help of Ripoff Report, we were able to track down the info on the person who is posting this (and another) false accusation. They were someone who was removed from our site who actually WAS scamming models (by using some of the methods they accuse us of in this report) - who we kicked off several times.
Actually we should thank this person, because it gives us an opportunity to show what a great business OMP is, and invite you to call or write us with you questions directly - or better yet, try our service (basic portfolios are free), and see for yourself.
We have nothing to hide, stand by our ever increasing membership, and success in being able to give new features and opportunities to our members.
Thank you!
