Purchased a battery charging statation (Model No: ap4500) for the Tek 4 product line (TEK4 4-Volt ScrewdriverModel: HP53LK).  Charging station included an extra battery (Model No: AP4001) which will not charge and is DOA. Contacted Ryobi support about getting a replacement.  Opened up support account as per instructed from their website (https://register.ryobitools.com/) and open request for support.  Recieved a response back from customer support rep: "Your closest Ryobi authorized service center for warranty coverage/service and repairs can be determined from the service center locator under the "Support" link at www.ryobitools.com by searching based on your state/province abbreviation or by zip code. If you should need further assistance in locating a service center, please contact the Ryobi customer service phone staff at 1-800-525-2579. Contact your nearest service dealer to arrange for the warranty service, and to insure that you provide them with everything necessary to properly assist you under warranty guidelines. If the purchase receipt is not available to verify warranty coverage, the service dealer can base warranty coverage on the items serial number. Factory reconditioned tools carry a one year warranty only. Best regards, Tom Clinkscales One World Technologies, Inc.".  Called the local support service center which informed me they only deal in small engine parts and to call the support number for Ryobi.  Called the support number Ryobi provided above and recieved a message to call back during working hours, which I was calling during working hours.  Responded back on Ryobi online support and recieved the following reponse back: 12/29/11 17:23:Tom, I called my local service department and they told me they only deal in small engines and could not help me. I called the 800 number you provided and I got a message to call back during working hours? What now? Flaming hoops?12/30/11 07:56: You will need to contact the Ryobi customer service phone staff at 1-800-525-2579, and provide all of the service dealer, service situation, and product related information that will allow for a Ryobi customer service phone representative to contact the authorized service dealer you are using, and assist you in resolving the service related issue you are currently experiencing.  Called the support number again and was this time give an service location one hundred seventy miles from my location and was instructed that I need to ship the item to them for eight dollar and pay for return shipping of eight dollar again for the return of the item. Cost wise, I purchase the charging stations for Twenty dollars, I fail to see the value in this effort.
