I was contacted by this company via the phone that they could aid in the recovery of some of my losses that were incurred as a result of my trying to estabilsh an online business with several companies that turned out to be scams. I was reportedly told that I would be able to recover approximately $12,000.  In order for them to proceed with this, I was told to send them $295.00 on one occasion using a credit card. Then I was requested to send them $700.00 to cover the rest of the charge using a wire transfer.

In another phone call, I was requested to send them $195.00, also as a wire transfer, additionally to cover some incidental third party expenses, as required by the Federal Trade Commission. I was told that they would also have to take a small percentage out of the recovery amount once everything was finalized.

An appointment was made for delivery of the money, which was called a "finalization" and it required me to be at home for signing of the necessary paperwork. It was imperative that I was the one that had to sign this paperwork. Needless to say, the appointment did not come to be, even though I remained home during the time that they requested

I tried several times to get a hold of them after that. I left messages to call me back and no one ever did as I requested. I called them today and did get a hold of Paul Matthews today, which is September 31st. When I was taliking to him, he said that he did not have my file at his desk and had to go "upstairs" to get the information and that he would call me back in three or four minutes. That has been 2 and one half hours

This company clearly did nothing that they had promised and, therefore, I would like to warn other innocent people from accepting "help" from this company

I am confuesed to your report, as there is different views that conflict back and forth....? I had a good eperience with this company, though I was very worried when I initially saw your complaint lol.. Even though it was from years ago, and one complaint I was worried as I had sent them a wire transfer for close to 3000!  Anywsys, long story made short the customer service wasnt the greatest however at the end of the day they got me back close to 10,000.00 of the 14k I had lost so no complaints here.

STILL A RIP OFF.

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 19, 2015

I am writing this again in response to a letter that was written to Ripoff  Report, dated originally on October 1, 2015, in reference to Online Education Development. The letter was written originally as my wife was very adamant that we were being taken advantage of.  However, I felt that this was a legitimate and upstanding company. I withdrew the complaint when the company contacted me on the very day that the complaint was posted on your site and it looked as if it was a misunderstanding on my part as to the date of this finalization. On October 14, 2015, I sent Paul Matthews a text message as to the date that we could finish off our business as the day that I was given would not work as I was going to be out of town.  He texted me back the next day and asked when would be more appropriate. The same day I texted Paul  back to tell him that October 30, 2015, would be okay with me.  After that point, I received no communication from the company. I have sent several texts and called the phone number that I was given only to find that the mailbox was full and could not accept any additional messages. It appears that the telephone mailbox was full for about one week but I was able to leave a message on occasion that we needed to talk and discuss further action. My final message posted on November 3, 2015, asking for a resolution date has been unanswered. So it seems that my wife’s suspicion of this company’s integrity was well founded. On a final note, I would like to say that I am a disabled American veteran and fought for the very right for individuals to pursue opportunities to live the “American Dream” and find it so sad that the very individuals that I fought so hard for could abuse this privilege so blatantly.

Company responded before report was published

The report that was published was sent at the same time as the phone message we received by the company that the date that I was given was only a tentative date on their computer but I thought that this date was the actual date. This as a misunderstanding on my part. They set up a confirmed date for October 22nd.

Since we had been the victims of scams in the past, my wife was pretty upset and thought that this was once again our being taken advantage of. I felt very good about the company and assured her that this company was extremely reputable. She was still insistant that we had been taken advantage of AGAIN and sent the report. I felt that the report was unjustified and should not have been sent.

I am proud to be working with ONLINE EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT, LLC and personallly appologize for posting of the report.
