I have started a petition , (REBATE RIPOFF PETITION
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ReBateRipoff) to have the FTC bring charges against "Tiger Direct (AKA)OnRebate (AKA)Rebate Processing Center" companies for not honoring their responsibilities towards sending rebate monies to the individual applicants who qualify under the terms of that rebate. Also the section that asks for rebate clients to pay "OnRebate" one dollar of the original amount to have the rebate expidited within three days of approval.
There has been a Search Results Criteria:
In All Reports: 448 Entries Found, Showing since
7/15/2004 to present. There is 52 alone since Jan 1-07 to present(March 7-07). As a result of this finding the FTC should be putting a stop to this kind of business practice and force "Tiger Direct (AKA)OnRebate (AKA)Rebate Processing Center" to send mony to all applicants who qualify ASAP.

I am disapointed that I needed to come to this conclusion. In reading so many complaints about being scammed I really thought there would've been more particpation. I found alot of apathy here by many people. The number of signature on the petition that I worked so hard in creating to help individuals that have been abused have been poor at best. Even this forum's managment didn't post some of my material that could've had more impact on this topic.
Due to the lack of interest by the victims, I'm withdrawing my fight against Tiger Direct (AKA) Onrebate.

PAYMENT WITH SCAM!

I recieved my rebate check today but the scams are still in play. The amount that they sent was less one dollar because I paid them a fee for a NO WAIT REBATE process which is supposed to be paying 3-5 days from approval which was nearly 10 weeks ago. What a scam, if they take a dollar from most people and send out the money the original way then they have scammed alot of money out of people who probably won't bother argueing about. What a scam! They've got more angles then you can shake a stick at. People, don't agree to giving them any money for faster payment, it won't work.
Also, even though I recieved the check that doesn't mean that I'm backing off my fight against them. I still have the petition going and I won't end it anytime soon. Just check the original post to see the petition location to sign it.

Anthony, I assume you are from Onrebate, wrote...
There was no fraud because a check that I never recieved yet was paid in 9 weeks. That's funny since if read my complaint he would've have noticed that I paid them a fee to have my rebate processed within 5 days od approval which was Jan 12-07. That process is called "NO WAIT REBATE" by there terms. Secondly Tiger Direct also has another processing company/or dept. that is called, "Rebate Processing Center". They also haven't paid my rebate yet. Their terms are 6-8 weeks and it took them 6 weeks to acknowlede that I sent them my rebate request. Now the 6-8 week process starts from this point. Aren't they a bunch of wonderful, trustworthy business people?
So Anthony, if you're company is so honest and you know all the facts then I'll give my appology but since I know you're facts are wrong then don't bother tring to make you're employer look good because most people are smarter then you give them credit for.

Jack's rebate was paid on 3/19/07 with check number 135646. His rebate was approved on 1/12/07 and mailed on 3/19/07. Terms and conditions of the rebate specify 8-10 weeks; Jack was paid in week 9.

I'm sorry but I haven't recieved a reply to my e-mail from March 17,2007. What's the matter, aren't you man enough to reply to my challenge? I'm not going away anytime soon so the more I'm ignored the more I will bother you and of coarse I'll keep putting the information out there for all to see. After reading an earlier report form another complaint against OnRebate I noticed some information that did help him. He e-mailed the CEO of OnRebate " Bill Gollan (bill.gollan@onrebate.com), CEO of OnRebate"
and go results so I decided to e-mail him as well. I would like to share this with those of you who feel just as pissed off as me. Maybe all of you should also e-mail him something, that should get his goat. Read the following...

My name is Jack Zlotnik and I've been waiting impatiently for my rebate. I paid the extra for "THE NO WAIT REBATE" that you people offered. The rebate was accepted for payment Jan. 12-07 but even with all my efforts of spending hours calling (888) 222-9300 and e-mailing I get either hung up on or the person tells me that it's going to be sent out soon or I just get no reply at all. What kind of game do you people play with innocent consumers anyways? Or maybe you just think everyone is dumb and ripping them off just doesn't matter. It matter to me, so that's why I've been diligent in going out of my way to get some attention out there with "RipoffReport", "FTC", "Consumer Protection", " Attorney General" and other to numerous to mention. I've actually put together a petition to the FTC against your business practises. Shame On You for taking advantage of innocent people.
I also realise that only a fool wouldn't be able to figure out that onRebate is a part of Tiger Direct, and here a new twist, so is Rebate Processing Center connected to Tiger Direct. So I decided to name all three of your names in this petition. I hope that enough people make you miserable and you might change the way you treat honest and respectable people. P.S. I will be forwarding a copy of this letter to all my sources for all to read.

I took the time to call OnRebate again today (MARCH 16th-07) and as usual waited a long time to get through to a person. After the wait I spoke to a call person "Pablo" who said once again "PAYMENT WILL BE SENT IN 7 to 10 BUSINESS DAYS", a promise that I'm sure will be broken again. Keep in mind that I applied in the beginning of January and the rebate was accepted on Jan. 12th and it was supposed to be sent within 5 day from then. That was 79 days ago and I'm told to wait another 10 days. I asked to speak to his boss but he couldn't oblige that request.

I've been ripped off on these "rebates" by more than one company to include Office Depot and Best Buys. Both of them claimed that "I did not include the original UPC from the box", which was included in the letter. But, due to their incompetence or deliberate fraud, my UPC disappeared and my rebate was trashed. Maybe the foreign people they hire at 14 cents an hour are not competent enough to keep that UPC code and are throwing it away as they open the envelope.
I have a solution. Stop buying from these stores, as I already have.
I suggest you tell the people who offer the rebates your past experience and then tell them why you will NOT buy their product and are going somewhere else to spend your money.
Until someone stops these rip-off rebate frauds, we all lose.
