I was with Opex for over 3 years, March 6th 2007 my husband left for his sailing adventure non-stop around the world (www.polishsailor.com)
This trip took him over a year; during the whole time I was using Opex to make phone calls to his satellite phone. For example Verizon charged me $1.99 per minute; my husband paid also $1.99 per minute from his Iridium satellite phone to call me.
We discovered that Opex did not charge us at all, I had 200 long distance minutes, and for 5-6 month making phone call to satellite phone I received regular bills. In August I decided increase the minutes with Opex, and than my problems started. They charged me on August 31st for the past three months; June, July, and August.
They called my friends, my employer and talked to everybody about my debts with them. (They have all the numbers from my statement)
One time somebody (I believe from Opex) called me at work and introduced himself "I'm US Marshall and we need to talk about your phone bill..."
That was enough, I took an attorney.
She stopped the threatening phone calls to me and my friends, but she is not able to do anything else for me, she is not licensed to practice law in Illinois
My contract with Opex vaiwe my right to a jury trial and limit my ability to recover certain damages. Finally the contract provides that Illinois law is to govern and that I must sue in Cook County, Illinois.
So, now ....I'm here in Florida, and have to "fight" in Illinois......
The final bill is for over $37.000,00 , they charged me $27.00 per minute plus tax !!!!!!!
On last message they left , they said "For your convenience we accept credit cards".........
